You might wanna watch some vids. Don't think you'll wanna wear fur anymore it's a reality. You can ignore it but it's still real.
Compare this to an animal who lived happily in a farm and then went to the abbatory?
It's not comparable.
I like big fur coats like those sexy 60s stuff even if it's vintage I'd never wear them because I don't wanna encourage people to accept it as normal. You're wearing cruelty on yourself and it's out of pure vanity. The world is enough fucked as it is. We should make our world better not make it worse. There is enough suffering and shit with plastic and forest fires and stuff.
Well those forest fires you reference are started by farmers clearing forest to raise beef to meet the Wests taste for steak and burgers (primarily the us). So its a slippery slope when you start bemoaning whats bad for our environment. Unless your living that vegan, off grid life style ... we are all out here contributing.
Our wastes are being dumped onto other countries shoulders (china being on of them) to process and sort. Those people are suffering from being exposed to our chemical filled trash and waste. But I don't see the PETA group out there championing those peoples quality of life.
Personally I'm not a fan of Chinese made products in general. I have zero issues wearing vintage fur sourced here in the us. I sleep very well at night. Could be the xanax but I digress 😂
So, we should all just throw our hands up and not care about any issue or try at all? Really? Just so you get to wear a headband without guilt?
Did I say we should throw our hands up and do nothing? Never said I felt guilty either. Don’t be putting words in my mouth just cause this topic triggers you.
I personally find it ironic that if the animal is cute and cuddly people don’t like the thought of killing it. But those same people get into their leather seat cars and buy burgers with money out of their leather purses and wallets. Like, same ish.
I'm not triggered. I see why everyone keeps calling you a hypocrite, though. Jesus, woman.
I’m a hypocrite for not feeling guilt for wearing fur. Got it 👍
No! Not at all. And as I said earlier, I think this vintage headband thing is not a big deal, although you probably will get nasty looks for it in Cali.
My point was that you have argued against the same kind of logic in other threads that you're using now. Particularly when someone like Supes uses it. And I meant that in my opinion, you are being a hypocrite in this argument, I'm not affixing a badge to you for all eternity.

Cause in my eyes killing an animal for its fur/skin is the same, whether its fox, sheep, cow, etc.

I think you believe new fur vs. vintage fur is a different issue. New means there is still someone profiting and that continuing profit is incentive to kill more animals.
I also think you think different animals should be treated differently since you eat meat and own pets.

Now is that something I've said tho, or just your perception your pushing on me.
Cause if you were paying attention I've said the exact opposite.
I'm questioning the logic behind treating animals differently per societal norms, ie fox is no bueno but killing cows is kosher.

Off topic, but damn. I was going to ask you how she was doing when you posted about taking her into the vets, and since you hadn't show a pic of her in awhile.
Sorry for your puppers lost. Regardless of the context of this thread.
As for the topic at hand, I don't care either way. Not my place to tell someone what they should or shouldn't wear. How to live their life. What hair style they should or shouldn't wear. I don't wear it, but that's because it's not my aesthetic. But I don't care if people do as well.
I am selfish, and worry about my own life and making sure I am happy. I got health issues, and all that jazz, so I really don't care about it cause it doesn't impact me. lol
Posted by TheRabbitIf it's vintage, that's fine.
Or if it's new from a pest species it's fine.
Or if other parts of the animal are used for food, it's fine.

The only acceptable fur to wear is that which is on your burger.

These are not Medieval times. We have much better fabric for warmth than fur.
We also have non-meat food stuffs that give complete protein, and yet I'm still eating meat 🤷
You bought it for fashion, right?
I don't think it's necessarily wrong to buy vintage pieces that were ill-gotten or made, like ivory or fur, but I'd probably avoid it. *shrugs*
Aesthetics and warmth.
Do you have leather products in your wardrobe? Car seats leather? Couch leather?
Whoops animal had to die.
Thats why this fur thing is kinda funny to me. My vegan friend flipped her shit when she saw my fur headband but when I pointed out her brand new mini coupe has leather seats... lol she didn't like that comparison.

My car has “leather” seats but they aren’t real leather. I was told they don’t put real leather in cars anymore unless they are rolls Royce or something super uber expensive. They call it leather but it’s not. Even in expensive bmw’s they don’t have actual leather. That’s what the bmw dealership told me themselves.

I don't wear fur or leather from animals I don't eat.
Eating and hunger are good excuses. No, I can't be vegetarian, thank you very much. I need my 20 essential amino-acids from fresh and well prepared meat.
Torturing wild animals in captivity and killing them on "aesthetic" grounds is pure barbarism.

Its not exactly a comparison though is it. Most leather and I repeat "most" leather products are from the animal where the meat is used for food consumption (cow, goat, buffalo etc) I don't see car sets, etc being made from mink or fox leather in mass production so i would be cautious trying to justify your excuse based on that.
I am against it. Completely.... and the excuse of "vintage" its like using that bull shit excuse that ivory "made" before 1947 is "legal" to buy and sell.
One time my friend gave me a hat and it was lined with fur but I assumed it was fake, cause he won it at some company breakfast thing.
So he gave it to me cause he didn’t want it and I was all.. SWEET!
Then I wore it and started to get itchy all over my head and face after like ten minutes. Then I went inside and I was covered in a rash all over my face. So I finally looked at the tag and it was actual rabbit fur.
So I guess I’m allergic to rabbits. Also I was mortified. I threw it out.

Its a personal preference. And its not an excuse. Just pointing out the obvious from that particular argument against it.
I like vintage cause its older and things were just better made back then. I actually have a lot of vintage pieces in my wardrobe. Been buying with a different mindset lately, looking for pieces that are either one of a kind or high quality. Quality over quantity.
Not just clothes either, furniture mostly. Commissioned a custom bookcase/Murphy bed cause all the new ones are made outta cheap particle board and I wanted solid wood. It came yesterday I am beyond pumped.

Well I suppose fashion is subjective, just like everything else. Saying its good fashion or not isn't really the point. I was just curious about peoples general opinions here. People take things so personal its wild. My vegan friend who was all against it is not even tripping as much as some of these strangers lol. People are funny.
Not sure how to calculate my net worth but this fur purchase was 0.3 % of my monthly income. I also have a pair of boots trimmed in real fur. Don't get to wear them much since its summer almost year round here.
My grandparents were immigrants and they are all dead so not sure how to calculate their net worth...

Maybe it had little mites living inside it or something...
Honestly...
Vintage fur is perfectly fine as its already processed n stuff.
New fur, depends how it was obtained. I dont like the idea of animals being bred especially for the fur but if an animal is from lets say, road kill or from hunting for meat and the fur is also used, I'm fine with that. Cause thats the historical way..... the whole animal gets used then.
Personally I'm not a fan of fur anything...I just never found it fashionable enough to wear but if I was freezing..and it was the only thing to wear...I'm wearing the mf lol.
I don't condone going out and killing an animal just for it's fur but let's say, you hunt for food then I find nothing wrong with utilizing the whole animal including making something from their fur....Like the natives do.
I love fur
I don’t care what a vegan gotta say
I think wool will do.
