Honestly? It took me a year. The first 6 months were hell, but also because we couldn’t cut contact those first 3 months. It was destroying the both of us so he said that he wouldn’t talk to me again to be strong for me and force me to move on.
It worked. I hated him, but he looked out for my own benefit, and that’s how I know he truly loved me. It was the healthy thing to do, and now I understand that and I’m so happy he found love again.

I still strongly believe he’s my soulmate if such thing even exists, we were the couple that finished each other’s sentences, said and thought things at the same time, felt what the other is feeling even when apart. They say you can’t end up with your soulmate, it’s too intense and that level of intensity is overwhelming and you can’t sustain it without going mad. You need to end up with someone where both your emotions will leveled, not too high and not too low, more suitable for long term.
He truly opened me up for love again and gave me so much hope that love can be found over and over again. I still check out his YouTube channel where he sang so many songs for me on there.
