Death from common cold

What is the death rate from the common cold?

I think I’m dying. Is an urgent care clinic appropriate? I had a cold all week last week but it cleared up this past weekend.

Today I woke up with a soar throat and progressively the pain has taken over my body. My body aches all over, 100% worse than last week. It hurts to move or eat. My head feels congested from front to back. I can’t even think straight.

What should I do?

Alka seltzer and DayQuil ain’t helping this time 😖😖😖

symptoms can last up to three weeks and if you have other health problems it can cause pneumonia. The death rate is low and really can only kill you if you're old or have other major health problems.

The flu is abundant right meow. All you can do is take some elderberry syrup, and ride it out.

Any other medicines?

Pay for the peace of mind and go to the doctor. Possibility of it not being a cold at all and something that needs to be treated.

Is it a cold or a flu? Do you have a fever? If so it's the flu. No fever.. a cold.
The flu has been killing people this year. I would go to a clinic and see if you cant get something stronger if you are that miserable and nothing over the counter is helping.
Go in the bathroom, close the door and turn the shower on all the way hot so that it starts to steam....that will help with the congestion temporarily. Mucinex also helps but I would go see a Doctor.

Even if it's the flu A, chances are high you missed the window for Tamiflu at this point. If you can manage, head to a doctor to get weapons grade stuff if it is bacterial.

If viral, stick to flavored Pedialyte, soups, and buttered toast. Aspirin if you have a fever. You'll have to ride it out for almost a week.

I got pedialyte for hangovers but never ended up using it. Glad I can finally use it now 😂😂

I didn’t know that about toast. Definitely going to the store to get bread now.

It could also be a nasal infection.

I went to urgent care and they diagnosed me with–you guessed it–sinusitis!! Gave me a steroid shot in the booty and prescribed me antibiotics and cough medicine. I hope this works.

Colds always turn into sinus infections for me too

Unfortunately it gets worse before it gets better, and it drags on for weeks ...I know the feeling. Like literally take me to the ER and put me on morphine so I can die in peace.😩

I highly recommend the Neti pot

I know it seems gross but it really helps speed the process up and clear up your head. Do it while you’re in the shower.

Warm it to touch otherwise will be nose freeze lol

Yes you can get it almost anywhere

It’s just this little teapot looking thing you put a saline solution in with distilled water you use to irrigate your nasal cavity

It has instructions on it

You can also YouTube it but don’t let people scare you 😂 it’s not that bad I swear. I was very apprehensive to try it but it provides so much relief and can even prevent you from getting the sinus infection in the first place
