What do I do to keep my body active? I like to say, nothing

What foods do I eat in a day to keep my energy levels up and my body healthy? I eat the wrong stuff. Probably explains why I'm always tired and drained out.

What are my fitness goals? Done achieved it.

I know those stuff I do to keep healthy or unhealthy ain't helping you out much if at all. And the foods I eat and the amount of it would probably make the average human sick. In other words....don't follow me.

I’ve started to do a daily exercise routine

Yoga stretches and sit ups … trying to do it 2 to 3 times a day. I also dance and walk some.

I’m taking Vit C, D, Zinc, Turmeric, Omega 3, MSM with Glucosamine and Slippery Elm if I get stomach issues, also Aloe Vera juice.

Food …. Fish and chicken (red meat occasionally) …. Meals … 70% veg, 30% protein. Salads and soup for lunch.

I eat berries, crystallized ginger and a little 90% dark choc for a snack.

I don’t smoke, drink or take medication

(Been there, done all that)…

As someone who used to skip breakfast regularly, reach for a cup of coffee instead only to burnout in an hour or two and grab a snack, oatmeal has been a blessing. My energy is more steady and I feel satiated a lot longer.

Hot or cold, sweet or savory— doesn’t matter. And available GF.

And stretching.

Lots of stretching (yoga, Pilates, etc.) paired with lightweight weight training, and swimming when I can.

Save your back and stop doing sit-ups. Do standing sit ups, Squat Jumps, High Knees, Jumping Lunges but stop doing sit-ups. Over time they put too much stress on your lower back.

Thanks

Will bear that in mind

I get a baseline blood test to determine the exact number for all of my levels. From there I assess based on the tests if I need to improve different supplements, change my diet etc.

I visit a nutritionist that I really like, and we develop a diet that suits me based on the results.

I typically do this once a year and then change my diet and workout plan to improve my health and fitness.

Physical beauty is temporary but long lasting health is important to maintain. So I focus more on internal health than external but I find the former coincides with the latter at some point.

Lastly, to improve my mental health I also think outside the box and I include activities like swimming, sauna, steaming and Pilates classes to help me relax and meditate. Can’t forget natures cheapest therapy…going for a nice mental health walk. I try to do this daily regardless of my schedule.

If you go to a gym use the Stairmaster, don’t use the treadmill. Treadmill is bad for your knees over time, Stair master is way more beneficial for your knees long term.

I try to exercise at the minimum 3 times a week and stick with Whole Foods- meat, eggs, fruits, vegetables and rice or potatoes. I try to be as basic as I can.

I slacked off for the holidays and gained 15 lbs in like 3 months. So I need to get back to basics and do better.

It’s so easy to put on the weight isn’t it, especially in the winter months ?

I’ve cut out potatoes but still eat a little sour dough bread.

It’s very boring too! I love potatoes for breakfast and love sweet potatoes as well.

I’ve never been a fan of bread, I don’t even eat sandwiches or whatever else you do with bread.

Pasta was the hardest thing to cut out but I have that very once in a while, when I crave it.

This is why I prefer to eat whole foods and stray only a little.

Sometimes the sacrifice is worth it 😆

It's hard for me to stay basic with food because I love cooking more yummy stuff and plain food is just so blah 😐

Me too but I'm not much of a fryer or baker, so it's easy for me.

But I do use a lot of seasoning and sauces. I also eat lots of Mexican and Asian food since that is what is good in my neighborhood. So it's pretty easy to stay on task.

They make fresh tortillas in my area as well as fresh rice noodles, so minimally processed. I can get what I need the same day.

I've just spent the last couple of minutes laughing my ass off, over what I was planning on positing but have now decided against. 😂

Just post it. 🙄
