Don't get me wrong, I'm all for privacy, I wouldn't want my name, pic, current city etc. displayed on here or anyplace without my knowledge... but then it's bc I'm an extremely private person for no specific reason. Unless she's underage or the person is smearing her name/character in some way (in this case he was) ... I dunno, I just don't see the big deal. That's to say, why pretend it's about something else (offset the chance of a potential crime) when it's really about protecting the privacy/ integrity of people who have not agreed to share their details with the world to begin with? Why make up fantasy scenarios? Why the panic? Why not call it what is is?
But then to an outsider, the topic of privacy and personal integrity as practiced in the States is extremely shady and hypocrytical overall.. Just take how media handles suspects in cases of nationwide interest, campaigning on their names and photos all over. That shit is unheard of over here. And we're talking suspects. Not to mention people who accidentally get pinned and crucified by the media on false grounds. Might aswell offer the public torches and set them on their way. That's dangerous. Shouldn't a suspect's personal integrity matter too? And why do they get away with it? I realize it's a little off topic.. just genuinly curious about the logic of how these laws are practiced.

Days after the club fire in which 60 people died...we only found out the owners are under arrest. Took more for them to release the names at least. Nothing about their family, spouse, kids, friends. It was a huge outrage because one magazine put up an article about the wife of one of the three. Article was pulled out.

He's mostly making an ass of himself, he's his own victim. I like to have it around because he really believes he's an alpha male or whatver, so that makes his clown threads even more funny in a "laughing at you, not laughing with you" way, but maybe this form of entertainement is too sophisticated for the average dxp denizen ?
I wish more people could see it that way, with enough encouragement we could have him dance for us like a little monkey.

Posted by WhiteChocolateOk gotcha.. but see, to me the real problem is the lack of proper safety measurements in the system, I mean to rely on someone's name and DOB not leaking out. That should be something to get riled up about. Seems like an extremely fragile system. Especially in the age of social media.
A name and DOB is that's needed. A little extra FB stalking and you can get enough information to scam banks, credit card companies, etc.
Which is why we have so many laws here that protect that sort of information.
I can actually look up a person by name over here and get their birthday, address, etc. I've used it numerous times to get someone's sign, I remember i was shocked once when MissFisk was curious about a guy's sign who worked in a different department and I told her to google him, and she was like 'We don't have that kind of database over here'.
