Leo generosity: strings attached?

Would you say generosity from a Leo comes with emotional strings attached? All gifts I've been given from a Leo have been surrounded by an air of the necessity that I acknowledge 'them' for what they've done. I bring this up because I had a Leo girlfriend for three years, and am now dating an Aquarius girl, and the Aquarius girl gives me a ton of small gifts, and it seems like all she needs to see is that I am genuinely happier for it to satisfy her. My other experiences with Leo gift giving are from a Leo sister, and a Leo best friend. My other close Aquarius friend follows suit as a selfless giver, where as Leo's seem to be more emotionally attached to what they receive in return.

Leos believe in reciprocation or "The Golden Rule". We're not saints and don't get our jollies from giving things away freely. We do it as a means to show that we care, but we do not like being taken advantage of either.

Yes, we can be VERY generous and don't always expect you to repay us in kind. We understand that you probably can't. However we do have an old way of thinking and expect that the recipient of our generosity will eventually return the favor.

Some Leos are more immature than others though. A more mature Leo will give selflessly and not expect much in return, while a a more emotionally immature Leo will expect you to reciprocate almost immediately. It just depends on who the Leo is.

Just know that when it comes to Leos we are looking for those who know how to give back. We are extremely aware that people are prone to taking our generosity for granted, so we are keen on finding those who won't take advantage of us. A Leo may give you $ 1000, so know you may be expected to lend that Leo something if ever they need your help.

Their arrogance comes from a place of intellect, where they need constant ego stoking - usually done by themselves. Leos however, are the opposite and usually seek outside validation. It’s the mature Leos and Aquas that learn a balance between the two. Hence, why they are opposites and learn from each other.

In your situation, Aquas are humanitarians, we give with no strings attached and it’s this very thing that makes us endearing yet total “doormats” to an outsider. Many even take for granted this very generosity.

This is exactly what I've been think as far as I've assessed it. You seem really insightful? Off-topic, I think my failure to assess Aries is because I know few of them, and I am one myself. Would you mind answering how Aries sees gifts and giving?

For some people their generosity is always unattached.

It depends on what your relationship with them is.

I'm not a leo, but know many since forever and it seems to me all they want is gratitude - to not be taken for granted and being appreciated for what they bring to the table. And by "bring" I don't necessarily mean stuff, but what they bring as people.

Well ime Aries only like them if it’s something they want/like themselves. If you give them something they didn’t expect on receiving they’ll probably tell you they don’t like it, hurting your feelings in the process. They’d rather tell you exactly what they want to avoid this or rather you give them money to buy it themselves. Which is why I prefer not to give a gift to an Aries. I have better luck making them food than buying them something cuz they are picky.
