Things I Don’t Value

This topic was created in the Libra forum by black773 on Sunday, July 16, 2023 and has 48 replies.

Understanding Personal Values and Social Standards

Valuing or not valuing certain social standards, like beauty ideals, varies based on personal beliefs. Recognizing individual perspectives helps in understanding why some may not prioritize mainstream beauty standards or societal opinions. It is important to reflect on personal values and how they influence perceptions of identity and worth.

You only get to live once. If you want to live life being a complete piece of shit, who am I to judge? I bet me saying that to you makes you feel amazing too. Your energy is pure hatred and malicious. I'm actually kind of jealous tbh. If I could turn you into a liquid and shoot it up, I would selfishly indulge just to feel something different.

White beauty standards...

Wait this is a thing still?

I mean comparing "white culture" or even recognizing a distinction in that way. It's kinda sounds almost racist🧐

How old are you and what kind of environment did you grow up in?

Cuz Living life like that is actually...optional.

I'm from California. For the most part, Everybody just does what looks good for themselves and matches their personality.

Hey, You should visit!

Stay away from the larger cities tho. Visit the coastal towns, mountain and foot hill towns.

People are pretty chill.

As for things I don't value myself🤔

... Cultural and fad clothing trends and...sports fandom.

Never saw the appeal in sport team loyalty. Appreciation the skill and work that the players put into their performance though, it's near super human.

style trends....This 3 inch nails shit is hilarious. You lose so much fine motor skills, buttons are a nightmare and it's risky every time you wipe yourself. Oh ya cost a shit ton to maintain🤣

What is a white woman beauty standard? Isn't everyone looking like a Kardashian today no matter the race. Or do you mean what they are looking for in a man? Be specific

His viewpoints are problematic, yes he is intentionally being antagonistic, and bigoted. Shit happens.

Those of you trying to rebuff him by attacking his masculinity, race, and wealth class...y'all aren't making the witty comebacks and hot takes you think you are.

With that being said I'm not giving y'all a pass on learning about how systemic racism exists. It's easy enough to learn if you want to. A

Beauty standards and implicit bias are real things.

If you're completely lost as to what he is referring to, a quick Google search will land you on some solid resources provided your algorithm hasn't completely detached from reality at this point.

But masculine people eat vegetables. I know there's more than just one way of being masculine but eating vegetables is definitely one of a masculinity thing, especially spinach. So he's not all masculine. And while I'm not masculine (not going by my chart) I eat vegetables. But not Brussel sprouts.

I don’t value Dasani, Crystal Geyser or Alhambra water.

They all lied when they said it comes straight from the source and into the bottle.

It taste like sewage water.

I’m gonna need them to change the recipe or something.

I'm new here. I joined cuz I thought this was an astro site. I don't know back stories or personalities but it seems like OP is just tryin to cause hate and discontent. See what or who's feathers can be ruffled.

Mmmm, I love brussel sprouts, especially oven roasted.

The first red flag was soda or candy companies owning rights to water. If they put aspartame and caramel coloring which causes cancer in soda, why would water be safe?

Things I don't value.. hmm.

Definitely Vegan Meat.

There is so much seed oil, soy and methylcellulose in their ingredients you might as well just eat a double cheeseburger from McDonalds.

Seed oils cause tons of health issues including cancer and methylcellulose is an ingredient for laxatives.

Don't get me started on Soy either. Vegan meat is a scam and you're much better off eating actual meat.

I've always been curious: are Asians considered POC or is it just black and indigenous?

I once talked to a guy who wouldn't date a white woman because he said, "it'd just be too much to explain". I'm not sure what he meant but I'm sure he meant something like having to explain his race to her family. This guy also questioned why I dated white men and I'm like, ummmmmm... I should have told him I have a fetish 😭😓

Brussels sprouts are ok.

Do you have a strip mall culture?

It sounds like you're mad because you're not physically fit or good looking. It has little to do with race.

If you weren't big or ugly, you'd still have a dating pool.

The OP is simply a weak little man that wanted to start drama, but couldn't handle it once it came into reality. How sad. Like how weak do you have to be to start a drama thread, and not even have the ability to make it work.

I have no objection to the post concerning not valuing white beauty standards. White beauty standards have been rejected for some time because they are of the patriarchy. Majority of women (of all ethnicities and races to include white woman.... and dare I say white women lead the charge) have been on board in rejecting white beauty standards for this reason since the 70's. I thought we all finally reached a consensus on this.

You think I haven't heard white men say they are not attracted to black women? I'm good. Completely and utterly good. Attract (and subsequently dated) white, black and hispanic, fr fr.

Secondly, there is no reverse racism.

How long have white women been advertised throughout history as the epitome of all that is a woman, beauty, etc. Do you know how this is weaved into the fabric of racism? And, what part it plays... You would have to care very deeply I suppose. And, I don't expect you to - for real.

Let me give you a succinct small example to keep it brief and poignant. They had to pass a bill so that my hair would not be discriminated against. There's already anti-discrimination laws. But, my hair needed it's own, LOL. I was ahead of the natural hair movement (I guess) but wore a wig that mimicked your hair to a job interview to make sure that I got the job on my merits.

What he said is deeper than as presented. Everyone was taught to bow-down to white women, period.

I judged your caring based on what you decided to argue. There are white woman in this thread (on this board) that understood.

k, though we all know you're racist.

If anything, he may be prejudiced.

Racism exists within a hierarchical structure with power at its core. Racism only works because one group has power and other groups do not. And it is white people who – historically, and in the West at least – hold the power when it comes to racial divides, thanks to centuries of Eurocentric beliefs and structures that continue to privilege and centre whiteness.

It amazes me how quickly it wants to be used in reverse for the smallest slights (in comparison to actual racism...) truly petty and still somehow showing the desire to use power.

He may be prejudiced but that word doesn't hold enough power does it? Gotta go for power. Cause current and historical power is not enough.

The information is all over the internet. I've gotten so sick and tired that I just find the words lined up most appropriate to what I'm trying to convey and edit it. The BLM movement was quite enlightening to those who cared to be educated/enlightened.

Some men are doing the same "reverse" thing with the woman's equality too. It's truly sickening that they think we're actually going to fall for it. But, when you have been in power for so long, I guess everybody looks stupid.
