I think guns, shotguns, and shooting rifles (for hunting) should be allowed to the public. But I cannot understand how civilians are given access to semi-automatic ruffles or even grenades. There are no reasons why they should be allowed to own one unless they have special permission from the gov.

No one knows what they are being bought for. No one asks once a permit is given. How did they get a permit? Even if they don't have a permit, there will always be someone who will sell it for a few thousand dollars more.
There are atleast 10 developed countries who are doing exceptionally well without guns. Australia being a prime example where reform in gun laws changed the crime rate drastically.click to expand
It's the government who approve gun owners right?

We have the technology to gather information and use suggestive advertising on smart devices. We can update the database to give a warning if someone purchases more than a pre-determined amount of guns/type of gun. Or if they are convicted of a crime. Or if they have a psych recommendation. Etc. etc. etc.

The news (fox) makes it about hotel check in security or terrorism or mental health. But if mental health is the reason people are snapping, not the ease at which they got the gun, then why isn't better mental health resources our focus? Why are republicans trying to take away our health care??
And then they pass these silencer bill while we are all distracted by the bs they engineered 😩
Your missing the point completely. They are making it EASIER to get access to guns.
You say they are making it easier
I say the government is working its way to outlawing guns completely and indefinitely

Tablet? Do you go online?? Sorry those freedoms are long gone and the way technology intersects every aspect of our lives they aren't coming back. And you are limited by type to a certain extent. Fully automatic and explosive munitions are barred for civilian use unless you have costly and time consuming reasons from the Bureau of ATF.Posted by WarAngel1You need to register your address and name. Social security. That's all that's needed.Posted by LadyNeptuneThe current system is not the best, no.
We have the technology to gather information and use suggestive advertising on smart devices. We can update the database to give a warning if someone purchases more than a pre-determined amount of guns/type of gun. Or if they are convicted of a crime. Or if they have a psych recommendation. Etc. etc. etc.
Idk there are people out there much smarter than me. Is the current system really the best we can do?? I don't think so.
Adding more safeguards means more intrusion in the American way of life. I'm not 100% ready to have the government up my ass more than they already are with my past employment.
But the amount of guns you own should be on record. If you start stockpiling that should be stopped. I even think there needs to be a limit of number of guns each person is allowed to purchase. Or limit to type.
Or if you are deemed mentally ill by the state your banned from gun ownership. I think about that kid who shot up Virginia Tech.
Safety for all doesn't need to mean giving up your personal freedoms.
Third point, already a law but I'm not sure on details on the limits.
Fourth point, that's exactly what a man like me would give up in the process.
And now I'm curious. What freedoms are you scared of losing??
As for the second question: the ones I lost post Patriot Act.click to expand

Posted by WarAngel1You think they don't already?Posted by LadyNeptuneYou are right when it comes to technology. I'm typing on a smart phone right now. Thing is, I don't want to allow people to have a blank check to go even further into my privacy and personal freedoms than they already abuse.Posted by WarAngel1Do you own a smart phone? Tablet?
