Trade guns for tazers.
What? Why not? Not as cool-looking as blowing half of someone's skull off?
Not to gun.

I have guns, would like to keep mine as the tools they were intended.
I am also an owner & pro gun. DXP is a good place to get a general consensus on the opinions of massive amounts of the population.
Until the world is making strides to get better, I won't be betting my money on law makers & law enforcement as my only line of defense
58 reasons here why i'm against them.

But it's a flawed system. If gun laws were stricter then maybe... I'd be ok with it. But still I think the positives of having guns seem far less.

They'd have all had to account for distance, wind speed, and elevation the same way the gunner did from the 32nd floor. I think the big push is to ban for the automization of weapons ie, bump stocks, even the NRA is behind that one which is extremely rare.

I'm against violence and senseless death. I personally do not carry a gun and 100% want stricter gun laws. But I do not have issue with folks that do carry as long as they should have a gun and aren't some nut job.

I think guns, shotguns, and shooting rifles (for hunting) should be allowed to the public. But I cannot understand how civilians are given access to semi-automatic ruffles or even grenades. There are no reasons why they should be allowed to own one unless they have special permission from the gov.
Here's a start as to why

Yes.. even in places where guns are not allowed people are smuggling guns. Imagine how it is in the US then where you are capable of buying guns freely.
No one knows what they are being bought for. No one asks once a permit is given. How did they get a permit? Even if they don't have a permit, there will always be someone who will sell it for a few thousand dollars more.
There are atleast 10 developed countries who are doing exceptionally well without guns. Australia being a prime example where reform in gun laws changed the crime rate drastically.

Maybe your right, but I'm sure those countries are historically & demographically different than in the US.
It's the government who approve gun owners right?
We have the technology to gather information and use suggestive advertising on smart devices. We can update the database to give a warning if someone purchases more than a pre-determined amount of guns/type of gun. Or if they are convicted of a crime. Or if they have a psych recommendation. Etc. etc. etc.
Idk there are people out there much smarter than me. Is the current system really the best we can do?? I don't think so.

The swiss situation is this ..their army is a people's militia they have to serve ...and they are required to keep some equipment at home. So that is why they have a high level of gun ownership...their people are their army and their soldiers have to keep their equipment at home sometimes. But they are well trained to deal and have to pass psychological tests etc like a cop would.

But the amount of guns you own should be on record. If you start stockpiling that should be stopped. I even think there needs to be a limit of number of guns each person is allowed to purchase. Or limit to type.
Or if you are deemed mentally ill by the state your banned from gun ownership. I think about that kid who shot up Virginia Tech.

Yes. It's sad and frightening tbh.
I saw my friend earlier this week who was there and she is forever changed, she can barely work right now. My heart was breaking for her.
I went to the strip last night and was at the MGM which is across from the festival grounds and no lie I was freaked out and I was safe at home that night, but just the thought of what happened is there, ya know. I can't even begin to fathom what folks that attended are dealing with or the church or Orlando or San Bernadino or sandy hook or....aurua or columbine or..

I'm not anti gun. Well maybe I am, I dunno, but i am not against folks having a gun, a handgun or whatnot for hunting. I for sure am against an average joe having access to buying assault rifles. I am also 100% pro that things need to be put into place to stop this type of stuff from happening. it needs to start with real education on what should or should not be allowed and stronger access to getting certain types of guns.

But if mental health is the reason people are snapping, not the ease at which they got the gun, then why isn't better mental health resources our focus? Why are republicans trying to take away our health care??Right!
The worst thing is they use these tragedies to make it about guns and politics and people get worked up and start taking sides and all too soon we forget the faces of everyone who was slaughtered.
And then they pass these silencer bill while we are all distracted by the bs they engineered 😩
Or better yet they outlaw your firearms
Your missing the point completely. They are making it EASIER to get access to guns.
And I feel like your missing my point. I totally understand where u are coming from.
You say they are making it easier
I say the government is working its way to outlawing guns completely and indefinitely

I'm talking about something that is actually happening though. I provided you with a link. Where's your proof?

We have the technology to gather information and use suggestive advertising on smart devices. We can update the database to give a warning if someone purchases more than a pre-determined amount of guns/type of gun. Or if they are convicted of a crime. Or if they have a psych recommendation. Etc. etc. etc.Idk there are people out there much smarter than me. Is the current system really the best we can do?? I don't think so.
The current system is not the best, no.
Adding more safeguards means more intrusion in the American way of life. I'm not 100% ready to have the government up my ass more than they already are with my past employment.
You need to register your address and name. Social security. That's all that's needed.
Safety for all doesn't need to mean giving up your personal freedoms.
The first two points are already taken into account, except for limits. And you are limited by type to a certain extent. Fully automatic and explosive munitions are barred for civilian use unless you have costly and time consuming reasons from the Bureau of ATF.
Third point, already a law but I'm not sure on details on the limits.
Fourth point, that's exactly what a man like me would give up in the process.
If it was a law then how did he buy the guns?
Shich nut bag we talkin about? The church or VT asshole?
Virginia tech.
And now I'm curious. What freedoms are you scared of losing??
I'll have to research the Cho guy, it's been too long to remember his circumstances.
As for the second question: the ones I lost post Patriot Act.
Do you own a smart phone? Tablet? Do you go online?? Sorry those freedoms are long gone and the way technology intersects every aspect of our lives they aren't coming back. This is the age of Aquarius.
Ya might wanna survive this brutal Capricorn conjunction coming up first.

You are right when it comes to technology. I'm typing on a smart phone right now. Thing is, I don't want to allow people to have a blank check to go even further into my privacy and personal freedoms than they already abuse.
