That would be the Portugese, our team usually just shot themselves in the foot at key moments, when they had all the ingredients for success.
The overall attitude the last few years has been that putting the emphasis on beautiful football (as we always have) rather than result-oriented football, has been our downfall. Good thing this has changed, now Im sure the results will start coming!
The mid/late 90's Dutch generation could have been World Champs in 98 but they simply were not hungry enough, as I said before the mentality was still pretty much geared towards the idea that "better to lose with beautiful football, than win with ugly one"
I remember hearing from several players of that era that their actual goal for that world cup was just reaching the semi-finals, when in reality the team was good enough to go for more!
As usual, the African countries have been pathetic. Cote D'Ivoire won, but Colombia will most likely pick them apart.

I don't think he's racist. In South America, they don't hold their black populations in high regard. That's just how it is. Anyways, Uruguay has always been my favorite South American side and I hope they beat Italy.

I can't stand that guy. I have no idea why he's on the team other than his dad used to be the coach and probably still has some pull with US Soccer.
He and Jozy. I have never been impressed with either, tbh.
I have no idea wtf the coach is doing with these jacked up formations, barely any experienced talent up top, expecting Dempsey to cover everyone's asses.
Nevermind he excluded Donovan from the roster. I know dude was having his iffy moments here and there, but given the roster that he did select, it leaves one wondering wtf his standards are. He cut Donovan for some of these other guys and they aren't any better than Donovan on a bad day. I barely have seen any threatening attacks up top, nobody seems to be all that aggressive, and when the ball is moved forward, there's no support and nobody around to create plays. It's fucking ridiculous.
That said, we really need Donovan's experience in the offense and the coach screwed us by cutting him from the team.
I'd be amazed if this coach had a job after the cup was over.
While the US played a bit better today than they did against Ghana, there's still a lot left to be desired in their formations and play. There have been way too many moments where it's like "did you guys even practice for the World Cup?" because they're scrambling like unprepared bitches out there. It's embarrassing.
I also find it a tad bit ironic that a team sponsored by Nike, who's pushing a "risk everything," ad campaign, is doing anything but.
I hope they wake up and get it going against Germany. :/

Man I already know Argentina is going to destroy the Super Eagles. Nigeria has been pedestrian for years now, plus they were lucky against Bosnia.
Nice win for Brazil, they were the better team.
Offensively Cameroon was decent to good, but really not enough to make up for their joke of a defense.
We have the best coach in the World Cup, Louis Van Gaal 🙂 Next match against Mexico is gonna be awesome, but Im confident us Dutchies will come out victorious once again..

Not really, besides being the 2010 runner-up, we didnt get far in Euro 2008 and 2012 or even 2006 World Cup (second round I think)
We have a good chance of reaching the final this time again! And if we do Im confident we can win. We are overdue of world cup greatness after 3 lost finals (1974, 1978 and 2010)
