I hear a lot of people talk about their anxiety. What are the physical symptoms?

I always considered myself pretty good under stress but lately I'm experiencing new physical reactions.

I don't know what to think.

Example: last year, I gave a client a big discount. This year, I still gave her a discount but not as much. I charged her 1/8 of what anyone else would have charged. My thank you? Bashed on my business Facebook page for charging too much.

It annoys me but not that much but

my entire body is tingling right now. Am I getting the flu that's going around or actually having a physical reaction?

Anxiety can cause a weakened immune system if your body is constantly in stress response mode, but you don't sound too terribly stressed out.

I'm not stressed at all. Let me rephrase that, I have a very stressful life but i don't let it affect me. I've read those posts and calmly replied and now I'm all tingly and trembling.

I'm not used to physical reactions to slight annoyances so I'm confused. I would rather it be the flu. I hate having no control over my emotions.

Yeah it sounds like a flight or fight response, although the first panic attack I had I was having a pretty good day and it just came out of nowhere. Since then I have had panic attacks and was diagnosed with GAD.

There are different types of panic attacks, not always the fast heartbeat where you think you are gonna die.

I would see a doctor anyways, get some rest and load up on vitamin C. Eat some raw garlic with honey or your stomach will hate you if you don't have the honey, if you think you are getting sick tackle it now, cuz the flu going around now is a doozy. I have been battling it for a while and have not caught it, hopefully I won't but sometimes it just suddenly sneaks up on me and BAM. I am useless for a week.

As far as actual anxiety, for me I break out in hives, my heart races, i feel hot and i shake/tremble really bad. In extremely stressful situations I've had chest pains and palpitations. Anxiety stops you from sleeping some nights and leaves you feeling physically drained during the day.
I get this too.

I break out. and I also have a low immune system, and have anxiety attacks..

I don't do stress well at all.

Adrenalin rushes are a lot of what anxiety attacks are. I started getting them as a result of starting thyroid medication. Hadn't ever in my life had an anxiety attack before, and all of a sudden I felt like I should have been rushed to the ER at least once a day for weeks.

Try this: B Complex with Vitamin C. They sometimes call it Stress B Complex.

Or, if you have any Vit C of any strength (500mg or more), take one as soon as you feel those internal tingles/jitters. I can almost guarantee that within 5 minutes, it's gone.

I've over stressed myself where I've started hyperventilating. My body becomes numb, I have a hard time breathing-heavy breathing, chest pains, saw black spots then blacked out. If you're feeling the tingling sensation but you're not numb I'd say you're pretty levelled.
That sounds scary. What did you do? How did you handle that?

This was years ago when it happened while I was watching a video in class. First it was the breathing and I left class. Didn't realize I blacked out until woke up to paramedics around me. Informed me what happened and at the time I never realized I was stressing out but apparently my brain went into overload without being conscious of it.

It was scary. The paramedics took me into the hospital to run some tests. I had to call in work because I was directed to stay home for a couple days. They wanted to ensure I didn't have a relapse.

Panic attacks is another story and I've had a few of those....normally triggered by a traumatic event. My ex is what caused them. There isn't anything you can do about panic attacks, unfortunately. You have to just let them pass. It's a state in where you can't breathe, you're gasping for air and you can't comprehend what is going on at the time because your mind is focused on that traumatic event. These can be very scary.

Did something happen to trigger it or did it just come out of nowhere? Are there warning signs?

No, it was a pattern of events that triggered it. I recall it had to do with threats from him and being in a highly fearful and emotional state. What triggers it is the fear of having to revisit that state. He triggers my anxiety level if I come into contact with him or feel his presence nearby. Luckily, I moved to a place farther away.

The main problem is when anxiety reaches the breaking point where it turns into panic attacks. Panic attacks are uncontrollable. And in extreme cases, prescribed medicine such as clonazepam and Xanax can help keep those levels down. These need a psychiatrist's approval, however, as the side effects can lead to severe depression when one becomes too dependent on them. I've seen my ex go down this path :/

I thought this was a reaction you were having

to specific situations.

Is it situational, or general and seemingly

without cause?

No in the moment i just have to calm myself and i can do that still at this point. Do you think that anxiety attacks can get more and more intense as years go by? Im.asking also because, aside from wanting to know what you think, i did notice that they got worse for me. Its like they became more tangible.

If the patterns continue or certain situations add to the triggers, yes. Your mind has not found a way to remedy it. It helps to pinpoint the root of the cause. What initially caused it for you? In what way has it become more worse? Has it become more frequent or has the duration increased?

It has helped me to distance myself from a toxic karmic relationship is all that ive noticed so far...

I know i overanalyze in general and that can get me worked up too but the last time i had one was a few months ago.

Seems the distance helps then. Sounds like a specific person jogs memories which put you back in that emotional state. Try to avoid at all costs if possible.

I had the irregular heartbeat at one point. I was extremely stressed lol my life was, falling apart
Define irregular? Did a portion of your body feel numb?
Well i went to the doctor looking for help with my anxiety. When they checked my pulse they said my hb sounded irregular like it was skipping a beat on the first part. They ordered more tests but i didnt follow through. So this was about 3 years ago. Ive been to the doc many times since and nothing. That was a tough time for me though so i attested the heartbeat to stress.

I do have bradycardia though but i have always associated that with doing a lot of cardio my whole life.

What did your doctor recommend you to do at the time? If it's been a few years ago then I'd say you are in the green zone. It's when it occurs more frequently when you should worry.

I never realized i had anxiety until i finished nursing school. Prior to nursing school i always thought THIS ^ was what anxiety attacks always looked like for everyone. Since I wasn't hyperventilating I didn't realize i had anxiety.. i thought I just worried a lot.

It wasn't until after having my son that i realized i had full blown anxiety, after receiving a phone call at work by my sons daycare and they told me that he was "short of breath" and had a fever. That was the first time i slipped into that hyperventilation mode and immediately started freaking out in the med room at work. It was such a helpless feeling to be so far from him. Then the nightmares started, i was having nightmares of my son (an infant) drowning in our pool or falling off the bed. I would be in a dead sleep then jump up and grab my sons dad (in my dream i was grabbing and pulling my son out of the water) and it would wake him out of his sleep and he would have to calm me down. It was horrible. My doctor tried prescribing Vistaril which is like Benadryl x100... i cant work/function while on that shit. So i just live with it.. palpitations and all. Lol i need to try some of the other supplements that others have mentioned here.

Oh wow. I am sure any situation that has to do with a parent's child's safety would cause anxiety you sky rocket. Is he your only son? How did the nightmares happen, did your mind fabricate it based off the experience with your son? I don't recommend any of the substances I mentioned. They are very dangerous which is why most doctors do not suggest them unless for emergent circumstances. It can really mess you up...

Id just rather cruise than be triggered at all lol 😛

That is really good you decided not to because when your body becomes immune to a substance, it requires stronger doses and that can lead to dangerous outcomes.

I did in a calm and professional way. I explained my pricing, told her that I would have preferred that she questioned me at the time and told her that I have her a discount to be nice and was surprised to read her comments. Within minutes there were 6 different customers at my defense calling her ungrateful and cheap. . It ended a few minutes ago with the woman apologizing and thanking me.

But really...I did her taxes. 2 actually. Hers which was long with child credits and college. Her refund was over $ 9000

And her boyfriends as single.

I charged $ 105 for both.

H&R Block would be $ 300- $ 400 just for her and probably $ 100 for him!

I honestly feel like I didn't really have anxiety before having my son. I don't remember ever worrying about someone or something so much. Ive always been a worry wart and tend to worry about worst case scenario, but have never had recurring nightmares like i was having. My sons dad bought a house with an in-ground pool, 8 feet deep on one end. I remember our son was 6 months old when he bought the house, and the house was beautiful, amazing.. but as we walked around the pool as we toured the house and yard, all i could think of is my son drowning in the pool.

Unfortunately there are some things that you cant unlearn and un-see.. like what we learned in nursing school. Just the fact that drowning is the number one cause of death in children ages 1-6 will probably have me on edge for the next several years. And then i will probably worry about him when he's a teenager learning to drive. I know its normal to worry about your kids, but not to this extent of having recurring nightmares and losing sleep. Oh and yes, he is my first and only son. He is 2 years old now.

I can't imagine the amount of worry a parent goes through for their kids. I don't have any, but I'm positive I'd be in the same boat like you.

Would you say you have separation anxiety? Have you tried fencing/gating around the pool to ease your worry? I believe your subconscious created those nightmares as a result of your fears. Have you tried speaking to a therapist to help you cope?

I'm thinking that my body may be fighting off that flu, I've been shivering and trembling all night.

Since all those surgeries in 2015, my immune system sucks. I catch everything.

Maybe it was my Aries moon fighting to get out and tell that woman where to stick it.

My other customers are doing it for me though lol.
if you have libra, I notice despite having aries personal placements, the libra part will still try to hold the aries back to be "nice" and "polite".

in grave circumstances, it's very very good to have that libra there if you have aries.

just something I notice with my family members. they are first and foremost polite. and thank god. I don't want them in trouble because of their mouth.
