My assumptions of others on DXP.......

Phoenix.....
Bubbly, fun lover with a great sense of fairness, but who orries FAR to much what others think of her instead of her!

Morgan.....
A bottomless cup of creativeness...however the lid is kept tightly screwd on by "something" in your past that you hate...negativity hold you back more than you know! You're a Leo...roar with PRIDE not just ecause you can!

Paralax.....
Very Intelligent and very well placed in terms of herself. She knows who is is and her capabilities.

Freebird....
Your name says it all as I once said in a post of yours...you realsie individuality. You think sideways which is great but you move forward as a result.

Durrie, I am so glad that you took my post for what I meant it to be...a candid expression of my true and honest (and in no way intentionally harsh) opinions. You really impressed me with the way you took it, I was expecting...well...a different reaction. I need to stop anticipating and expecting people to act/react in narrow ways, because a lot of times I am impressed with their ability to be more open and whatnot than I thought they would be. Thank you for your assesment of me, and I'll say that you're probably way more right than I wish you were about me worrying over what others will think of me. (You're DEFINITELY not the first person who's ever said that to me. lol)...you see, I am glad we had this discussion because I for one feel it was eye-opening and cathartic. It has taught me not to be so "assuming" ("assuming makes an ass out of U"--LOL, a little American joke)--and it has shown me what your real intentions around here are. Because narrow-mindedly, I was getting the impression you only wanted to be our teacher and guru type of person and that you thought you were "above" having everyday conversations with us. I realize this is not the case and I am glad that you shared what you're really all about with us. I of course have many faults but I am willing to work on them as I see that you also will do with yourself (although you probably have a lot less faults than I do!)...I just didn't realize that you really are a normal everyday person and not a motivational speaker or teacher. It's great to have those qualities though! Anyway, you are very multi-dimensional and it was great to see that in action during this discussion. Cheers 🙂

A great idea just came to me as to what to do about thos prolife nuts... I think I shall organize a paint ball gun drive buy!!! He he he... They'll never know what hit them, or wait a minute, I guess they'll probably figure out that it was paint. But anyway, it would be so much fun!!! Hmmm... Now that I think of it, there are quite a few people I'll like to hit with a paint ball gun drive by...

Oh frick, its all too complicated. To answer Phoenix's question on single motherhood, here goes.

Sometimes in life a woman does not get a choice as to whether she will be a single parent or not. If she is in a bad marriage, then she, and the kids, are better off without the husband. If she decides to have a baby on her own, then she should make sure she has support around her, because raising a child on your own can be hard. If a woman thinks it will be glamourous to be a single mother, then she is wrong. It is tough, but it can be done. I was raised by a single parent for a while and while it was hard on my mum, no thanks to me (!), i felt she provided for us (my sister and myself) as best she could. Love is the most important thing in the world and when parents try to buy the love of their children, it all goes wrong. I wouldn't swap my childhood for the world. Yes, things were tough for a while and i was reminded of that daily, but the one thing that i had was ADVENTURE...

Just to jump the topic a bit and expand on my last point, i think the less you have sometimes, the happier you are because you don't have the stress of watching over what is yours. I think that's what life is all about, survival. I don't know, ive had an average of 4.5 - 5 hours sleep for the past 5 nights running, so don't take my word for it. I would be happy with an uniterrupted 8 hours to be honest. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

*That is libragirl asleep on her computer terminal.

Seeya guys and have a great day 😉

Do you think it is immoral?
Do you think it's unfair to the child who results from it?

I should answer this. No, it's not immoral. But I can guess where that question came from. I have a big fear of evangelical bible thumping' "God spoke to me & told me so" pulpit pounders. Being unable to gestate a child should not preclude someone from raising a child. Ditto the "need" for both parents. If a medical means exists, by all means, use it. Saying if God had wanted you to have a child, etc.. is as assinine as the "If we were meant to fly, we'd have wings, etc. philosophy.

Should a father have any post-insemination rights? No. This is already covered under Surrogate situations. I DO have concerns about viable products being frozen for use later. But only in the scenario of husband and wife break up, with wife impregnanting herself with products from cryo bank, then expecting child support, etc. (In fact, there are cases pending this very dilemma, as I write this.)
Anybody have an opinion on which university they think is better? New York University or Boston University? I've been accepted into both, and now I have to decided on which to attend.

I personally like NYU better. They seem more serious and busi

(This idea was sort of inspired by Crime and Punishment, which after reading I have decided a new criteria for deciding what is great literature: does it make you have discussions about killing people if you could?)

If you could kill someone (and

People are illogical, unreasonable and self-centered.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
