now back to your favorite candies...
i can't remember the name of this one. i know they weren't jolly ranchers...or maybe they were. they were shaped like airheads and came in the same kind of package but they were hard...sorta like a flattened, long rectangular jolly rancher. whatever they were, they were sooooo good.
remember lemonheads and those boston baked beans or whatever....i think they had grape flavor too. i hated both of them.
Oh, Jolly Ranchers, how could I forget those? Watermelon, cherry, hot cinnamon and peach were my faves.
Maple Nut Goodies
Burnt Peanut candies
And my most recent love in sucker form, the caramel apple pop. Green apple lollipop with a caramel dip.
OH OH!!! FUN DIP FUN DIP FUN DIP!!!!
And my all time current fav.... Reeses PB Cups! I heart them!
And candy cigarettes! My sister and I thought we were so cool. LOL
OMG!! I know right!!??
And the candy ring. Little girls love the bling!
Oh and the lipstick candy!!!! And candy necklaces (althought I think you still get those but at those Brown Bag parties and now they are panties instead of necklaces!!) LOL
Damn, *cues music* MEMORIES!!!
lol 🙂
My all time favs were Zots and Bit-o-Honey
Ohh the candy makeup. You could get hard lollipop or something that tasted like a Sweet Tart on steroids. Must have da bling! And wax lips. Nothing made you feel funny with a big red kisser you could chew like gum later.

lol, yanks and there "CANDY"
Nope.... too salty!
my my stomp the feets out of the jimmy jams guess ill leave her alone don't want another suicide on my hands.
LOL AA, like Brits don't enjoy their sweeties. Banoffee pie, treacle tart, cream teas, sticky toffee pudding, bread and butter pudding, jam tarts, and treacle toffee.
Rather like that analogy Tate, may I use it?
LOL Of course I would AA, you knew better than that. *blowing a kiss* Mmmm spotted dick, that's the one with sultanas, yeh?
And if you want to go candy, how about Cadbury Flake Bar for a START?
Or is it currant? Sultanas are the golden raisins.
Ahha! You're thinking of hard candies. Or that's what they're called here. Candy here encompasses everything from taffy, toffee and then some to chocolates and all day suckers.
And may I just say, over the holidays, I made some SLAMMING treacle toffee. That stuff is good.
not big on candy but give me a good cup of believe it or not coffee which you cant get here and a scone a proper scone of course.
I'm not huge on candy either. When my sister and I were little we got a quarter a week, so a sweet once a week. The treacle toffee was a curiosity thing.
I had one piece and sent the rest out. Coffee is wonderful. I make it on the stove every day. With my dinged up metal percolator, makes the best coffee in the world.
same here I pecrolate it also mine has a little glass nob on the top you can watch it bubble. but still hard to get good coffee here like tring to get good tea in the states
I wonder why on earth it's hard to get good coffee? Mmm wonder if customs would have issues with that. My percolator is the same, it never gets old. Same as my old oven I have to light. And as far as tea goes I like loose leaf the best. Actually boil water and brew it. Such a throw back I am.
Watered down coffee? Nasty, what's the point of drinking it at all?
UGH! why in the world are yall discussing coffee? it's gross! pitooooooooooey!
on a side note, does anyone still chew gum? when i was younger, it was bubbalicious all the way. or i would get penny candy (gum) that i could only get when i visited my family in the country. now, i rarely chew gum. cherry burst or spearmint, my gum days are over.
ooooooooh, i miss youth.
getting back to the coffee I think its the way its made here we have a device that isn't made for coffee but most use it its a glass contianer with a plunge you heat the glass with hot water put the coffee or tea in on top the hot water then push the plunger down. the results good tea for shit coffee.
Mmmm coffee. I have an old tea ball of my Grandmothers Tate. Plonk the tea into it, screw on the top, hook it to the side of the pot of boiled water. Let it steep. What you described sounds awfully familiar to a French Press, but you said it's for tea.
It is for tea but yes a french press is the same thing I like you use the metal ball you put ground up tea leaves in and let it steep. English Breakfest tera or earl gray both quite nice.
I've only tried Earl Grey once, the bergamot is an aquired taste I think. Either you care for it or you do not. I like tea quite strong and black. I can only assume the breakfast tea is a similar thing. Honey if I'm under the weather. Green tea I like very much.
What's that gum with the liquid center? Anyone else remember that one?

I remember freshen-up gum ??the gum that goes squirt!?? haha

Tidal wave, I think that's it. Bless you, that's been driving me bananas!
Never had Red Bull, what does it taste like?
Oh goodness, LOL. You can keep that, I'd have to simultaneously be scraped off the ceiling and trying not to sick up at the same time. I can't even finish a soda.
ROFLOL!! I have one!

I purchased some Now and Later's earlier...ha! love the time puns, anyhoo, the damn things are soft. They're supposed to be rock hard. On the front it says "soft and chewy." What happened to "hard and impending cavity?"
So it got me thinking of my favorite candies growing up. My gma used to sell candies to the kids in the neighborhood so there are so many that come to mind. What were your favorite childhood sweets?
