Because I don't think women should be labeled sluts and whores. Character is infinitely more important and that has little correlation to how fast or slow a girl puts out.
I also find it incredibly hypocritical for a guy to try to have sex with a girl early on and then bash her for doing what he wanted to do himself. You say double standards exist. I say they only exist because they are perpetuated. It's easier for you to call a woman a whore than take responsibility for your own actions.

I don't view sex as important at all. It's just something I don't care about. I don't know why people view it as something so sacred or taboo...or why they think giving it up early dictates a certain kind of personality. If you knew me in real life you'd think I was fairly innocent, well behaved, emotionally stable, independent, well rounded person (sounds like wife material, right?). But, suddenly if I give up my goods early on, my character is labeled as something as negative as a whore? Why? It doesn't mean I'm going to sleep with whoever asks. I've only slept with 3 people. It doesn't mean I'm going to cheat. I can't even fathom cheating. This is why this topic makes me so angry. Guys have the audacity to think I'm a lesser person because I give in to something I don't really care much about. Sex is sex. Nothing more than a biological act. The problem with having sex too soon, is that you have so little to associate with with that person, and sex makes a big impact.
If the most impactful experience with you, is sex, then that's what someone is going to think about when they think of you. Obviously it doesn't apply to everyone but in general, it seems to be the way it works.
If your ok with that, cool... if you can switch those associations to something more meaningful down the line, cool. And I think that can be hard, because is sex powerful experience that could easily over shadow other things about you.
