My lease is up this month, looking for suggestions for autos that you have driven and liked. Definite requirements are good in inclement weather, no crazy low gas mileage, fits a single girl on LI budget, and not too small. I've driven both sedans and SUV's and don't have a strong preference one way or the other. Okay let me hear them, I know there are car buffs on here...thanks!

Definitely test driving a Jeep, but they are all over the place now and I want something a little unique...

Image Not Found

Audi A3 is also on the list.

I have an A6 so I'm a big fan of the performance and understated luxury/class of Audi. I never understand why people are into Jeep. It seems like a pushed advertising notion of some rugged, independent American ideal while being junk with poor styling and features.

When it doubt, get a VW beattle

I have one, you barely see any around my area.

The sucky part of it is that you can't shut off traction control. So snow is your enemy.

Get a Jeep if you don't like comfort. They ride rough af. But if your state has better roads than Michigan than maybe you won't notice anything.

I like the new chrsyler 200's

My friend has a 2018 chevy malibu premier. Really speedy car thats also nice on gas.

If you like to speed it might not the best car for you.

VW makes a nice product, but heard they are discontinuing the Beetle? Besides, I need something good for the snow...

By the way, Michigan has the worst DOT ever!!

My manager has the A7, Audi makes a solid product. The A3 is more in my budget.

Yeah, the Wranglers have become very trendy where I live. Those and pickup trucks, would consider a truck too so I can drive over the insane traffic here lol.

Dodge Durango or Jeep Cherokee.

Have you driven these? Everyone I know that has the Cherokee loves them.

I do, I own 2 Durangs. The 6 cylinder gets great fuel mileage. The v8 averages 18 for me. The All of them are built on a Mercedes platform and Mercedes engineering from before Fiat acquired them. If they make a hellcat version I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

I've had a V8 Land Cruiser, super powerful and fun to drive but the gas mileage sucked! And my work commute is 250 miles a week so trying to be practical...

Dodge uses an 8 speed transmission and cylinder cutouts over 55. On long hauls I average about 23 mpg. The AWD is flawless also. The SRT has a 392 which is peppy but the 6 cylinder has almost the power of a standard V8 by other manufacturers (I think it's like 265hp.) I went for the Durango over the Cherokee due to cargo space, that's really the only difference. And the Durangos arent as common.

Definitely worth checking out.

Thanks for the info, I'll put it on the list to test drive. Want to try the Jeep Latitude also, they're more budget friendly than the Grand Cherokee, so more practical for what I need while still being sexy.

1971 Plymouth Satelite Wagon

If I could find one I would totally drive it, especially with the wood grain side panels, sexy! Then people might get the f* $ % out of my way!!

Actually, wish I could get my hands on one of these-

My lease just ended too!

I ended up leasing a 2019 Kia Sportage LX

I needed something that could handle a lot of highway miles, decent mileage, tolerate bad weather, low maintenance and comfortable to drive.

I'm on the road a lot and will be for the next 2-3 years.

I told them after this lease is up, I will settle down a bit and be back to purchase a Mercedes M-Series....so when they detailed the Kia they put paper Mercedes floormats inside šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

Congrats elllle, like the color! Safe travels to you! I have the same needs, and after being hit last summer want something sturdy.

Consider looking at the Mazda. I currently have the CX9 Signature and I honestly love this vehicle!

The packages vary on price and you don’t have to go up to the signature package. I had some custom work done to it recently and I used the base model the dealership loaned me and even the base model feels and drives just as well as the signature.

It’s really great on gas. The space is great and it’s not a bulky suv which means you can park it easily. Mazda did this specific shape of the body of the car—-and all the luxury end vehicles copied this model in the past few years.

I’m sure Mazda offers great lease terms and rates. They seem fairly competitive with the market.

With all the news I read. All car companies are forcefully going electric in the new future. So its possible the beetle is being discontinued.

If you haven't seen it already GM plans to close a lot of our plants here in my state in 2019, discontinuing some cars in order to go more electric/SUV. One being the Chevy Volt (Plug in hybrid) that makes 0 sense to me at all.

Never been in one but really want one.

That's a big thing here too, we have charging stations at my office. A couple of my coworkers have Ford Fusions, they're really nice. Go for it, get a Volt. Unless you really want to go big and get a Tesla?

I'd ride a horse if I could so a bit of a rougher ride in my Jeep doesn't bother me one bit. I don't care that they are everywhere because I live off road and need it for real

Do you do the "Jeep wave"? =P

People literately just wave at each other when they pass on the road because they both own a Jeep I guess?

Someone told me at work and did it while I was riding with them. I thought he was bs'ing until I looked it up.

Its 100 percent real.

Like what.

yeh it's a thing originally started for the JKs and the Renegades now extended to the entire family - everyone in the south waves at everyone anyway so it's hard to tell why they are waving - it's fucking exhausting lol - check out Jeep Camp - they have one down by me every year but I haven't gone yet lol it looks fun

I’d get a fj cruiser but they don’t make em no more.

https://goo.gl/images/cCb7wL

They are sweet, would be great for off roading at the beach and then hosing it clean. The Rubicons have that feature too but they ride rough..

FJ cruisers require premium fuel which costs more so any mpg is offset by fuel costs.

It is. I wasn't a fan of them but test drove them and actually liked it. It's a 4 banger but it gets up and goes and they have other models....does pretty good in the snow and ice..of course I don't get nearly as much as where you live. Plenty of room, cheap on insurance as they consider them a wagon, and I go like 2 weeks or more before I have to fill it up. Plus the thing is supposed to be pretty damn safe...airbags everywhere in it lol.

Side note...if you do happen to get one...make sure they throw in or get a spare tire...I was shocked it didn't come with one but they gave me a air compressor lol.

Last time I’m speaking with that person on any fucking level. Should have saw this coming.

No worries! The banter is entertaining...and I know the levels Aries can take a debate to. Don't know what his sign is but he won't win lol.

Edited- Just noticed he's a Cap sun, this is foreplay not fighting. Now it's getting good!

Foreplay with a Cap is — the equivalent of chewing tinfoil the same day you get fillings repaired.

You CAN do it...but do you really want to? Nah

Need to remind myself to not do Aries things around people that take it to an extreme personal level. It moves — I jab šŸ‘¹ but not to actually hurt feels. 😬

LOL, not really. Never had a Cap so no clue what that is like. But I do know Aries. Sparring is verbal foreplay. And since you have that squishy, mushy pisces moon it's all good! All good with both of you, Night Cap has always been cool to me too.

Ahhh yeah, the illusion that someone is just innocently stumbling around an astrology forum...nah. This person isn’t as innocent as you think and I don’t want to get into it> purely because I don’t want any future dialogue but.....just try to imagine. That’s all I’ll say.

Listen we both are from the same area. Subarus are great imo. They are reliable, can handle all weather conditions.

My bf drives an impreza. Its sleek. Handles in the snow. He drives to the city from smithtown everyday. Smooth ride.

And they upgraded the look recently, they're nice. @andulusia made the same suggestion. Hitting Middle Country Rd this weekend, there's a dealership for every manufacturer in the world on that strip lol.

Compwtition subaru on that strip...

Wheb i upgrade my vehicle (honda accord) it will either be a Subi or Audi

Ended up going to Smithtown Nissan for a car, they were great. No slimy, pushy sales men...
