2gedanow - i'm going to need you to move along and take the condescending "women are hysterical and must be shielded" BS elsewhere. first of all, did you read the thread? there are some women who agree, some women who somewhat agree, some who disagree wholeheartedly, some who don't care and some who take the subject/me far too personally. and?
who are YOU to say what we as women are capable of absorbing here, there or anywhere (just read dr. seuss)? marie claire? why not throw redbook and ladies home journal in the mix since you obviously think this it's the 1950s and it's better for women to sit around swapping angel food cake recipes than having a discussion, heated or not.
now, i do recall your asking for the thread to go bye-bye and i wonder how it can do that when tweedle dee and tweedle "smell my finger" keep posting?

I totally agree, Tubby. Even if I don't care for your delivery style doesn't mean we don't hear the point you're trying to make or that we are only reacting emotionally.
I'm sad you've reduced us all to that^^, NIB.click to expand

...I'd be in my glory.
What is good for me, may not be another woman's cup of tea.
I just live my own life according to my own personal code of conduct that I can hold myself accountable for.
I really don't care how others conduct themselves unless it directly affects me and my happiness.

it's important to understand shit aint always sweet -- not even back in those old days when you THOUGHT everything was all good...I think it's a beautiful thing that a woman can leave now, if the need arises. Rather than being so sickingly dependent on a man that she has no choice, other than to stay & put up with the bullshit...
Lame ass men were not just brought to existance recently. LOL They've always been around...

If I marry, I want a private ceremony on the beach at dusk. No one there except the two of us.

Ah, but I think those bridezillas are a bit of an exaggeration, or so I would hope! In my planning, I think I've been pretty low-key about it. I'm just thinking of inviting about 100 people or so and nothing too, too extravagant or showy, but just surrounded by my fave people. I am soooo excited!! I just wish October was here already 😛

Yeah I do agree. I think people need to be more careful about deciding who to marry because you can't make a vow like that to God if you don't intend to keep it. Some women will think they got a dream-guy just because he's rushing her down the aisle but he could be doing it for his own selfish reasons -- like tax benefits. (it's silly, but it happens.)
A lot of older couples will also tell you that they married early, after only knowing them for a few months or weeks. Certainly it had nothing to do with love, not so soon anyway. I'm sure overtime they fell in love... and some really do have some happy-ever after endings that lasted for years on years.
I wanna get married someday, it's been my dream since I was a little girl. 🙂 But I would have to be with the man for years and years before making that serious commitment.. because people change, you think you know them and then they come out the costume.
Divorce is not really an option for me unless there's repeated infidelity or abuse or something serious like that. When I do get married, I really, really want it to be for keeps. So I am taking my time, while other women are rushing to the alter just to wear the white dress.
