dude who the hell are you? stop posting. ever think about that? no one is forcing you to read either. you don't like it, there are tons of other threads in which you can post.

If it's directed at little moi:

I'm not saying I don't like the thread. Hell, I'm saying you probably did the chicks who saw past your abusive words to the heart of the thread (denial is the theme I'm guessing) and DID take something out of it a huge favour in the long run.

And I was also saying that due to the... resistance a lot of women (should that be young?) have regarding being told what/how/who (lol) to do by anyone outside of Marie Claire, your message was doomed never to reach too many people. Even if you used kind words it still wouldn't have gone in.

So in essence, your intentions are commendable. The way you communicate them could be filtered a bit, because whether with su moon and stars in aries even aries people learn tact.

Finally, if the post was aimed at me, then it saddens me. Because it sort of hurts your original argument in that it reveals all you want to do is antagonise.

I.e. you really didin't care about the audience when creating the thread. You just wanted to ruffle some feathers.

Feminism is the stupidest... "ism" there is out there IMHO. Because no one, not even fellow feminists appreciate it.

Been reduced to chicks crying "PIG!" at anything that hurts their... ahem, "sensitivities".

Women rule the world, you know. Don't know what they're still fighting themselves/the world for.

Can I just take the time out to recommend Walt Disney classics to anyone feeling down at the moment? Did m a world of good, watching Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin and The Lion King again.

I mean the movies are known causes of diabetes, but if you watched them as a kid or WITH your kids nd watch them now, they'll take you BACK to a time you felt... well, happy.

Gay gay GAY ass songs, though. Then again, I hate singing in movies or cartoons. Always go use the loo when it comes on in Family Guy.

But that's just me.

2gedanow - i'm going to need you to move along and take the condescending "women are hysterical and must be shielded" BS elsewhere. first of all, did you read the thread? there are some women who agree, some women who somewhat agree, some who disagree wholeheartedly, some who don't care and some who take the subject/me far too personally. and?

who are YOU to say what we as women are capable of absorbing here, there or anywhere (just read dr. seuss)? marie claire? why not throw redbook and ladies home journal in the mix since you obviously think this it's the 1950s and it's better for women to sit around swapping angel food cake recipes than having a discussion, heated or not.

now, i do recall your asking for the thread to go bye-bye and i wonder how it can do that when tweedle dee and tweedle "smell my finger" keep posting?

Never said they were incapable of absorbing - those were your words, hon. Said they don't wanna hear it. Because they're being told how to live and NO ONE likes to be told how to do that. Also I added that the way you conveyed said information didn't really help matters.

If it did there wouldn't be pages and pages of you trading insults with other posters, now would there?

And you can't lie that there's chicks who follow rules laid out in mari claire, msn etc etc, even though they don't like to be told what to do.

Never said the thread should go bye bye either. I said you should stop fighting or if you don't wanna stop then use sarcasm (or condescend) so you look like you're trying to remain the bigger person. And that, my friend, was me joking.

You seem kind of dense like you only hear what you want to hear.

I read the thread. Mostly people were just bashing you for bashing them for pages and pages on end.

Tubbysconscience was a nice treat, though. Very funny.

Enjoy your thread, or what's left of it.

Just so you know, it didn't hit home. Next time try leaving out the word "b**ch" in the same sentence with "women".

Even only reserve that word for special cases. Like yourself, actually.

See what I did there, tubby? Not a single direct insult to you. Yet all what I've written still won't sit well with you.

Same effect, less energy.

Toodle-o.

Normal is Boring... OUT.

I totally agree, Tubby. Even if I don't care for your delivery style doesn't mean we don't hear the point you're trying to make or that we are only reacting emotionally.

I'm sad you've reduced us all to that^^, NIB.

Sigh...

Why take offence when you KNOW it wasn't aimed at you? To make me feel GUILTY?!

You KNOW the type of chick the Marie Claire thingy was aimed at, Satori.

You KNOW (I hope you do) you don't fall under that category. Nor does Feisty. Or Bella. Or VB. Or Leolady. Or I could f**king go on.

This is me doing the whole "men are dogs" thing, except it's aimed at chicks. The improtant thing is that Iam talking IN GENERAL.

It isn't spcific. So please don't take offence, Satori (and others). You KNOW it wasn't aimed at you.

Hell, it wasn't even aimed at TUBBY, who seems like the crazy b**ch she's talking about.

^^you're an idiot and i would bother to respond to the above but there are bigger things on my mind at the moment.

it's a shamed that you learned nothing and that you think that women are incapable of growing, self-actualizing and being unabashedly proud of their wants, needs and desires.

this thread was a precursor to a blog on one of my other sites. one in which i have approximately 11k members and to date, 1319 comments. most all are positive.

the audience is anyone who'll listen and particularly women. if you're a woman on this site, or another site or in real life, you're one every day, all day. now i know that some men have detachable penises that they place on mantels so that they can circumvent manhood when it suits them, but a REAL woman is a REAL woman all day everyday. so is it any wonder that you as a not-so man would find a not-so-real woman degrading herself in public by demonstrating her hypocrisy funny? like attracts like and for those that find self-depreciating antics funny, who chortle and chuckle while debasing themselves in the utmost forms of hypocrisy, you're welcome to rally around one another...as you deserve one another.

but i don't expect you to get that. let me know when you strap that thing back on and maybe we can talk.

it's important to understand shit aint always sweet -- not even back in those old days when you THOUGHT everything was all good...I think it's a beautiful thing that a woman can leave now, if the need arises. Rather than being so sickingly dependent on a man that she has no choice, other than to stay & put up with the bullshit...
Lame ass men were not just brought to existance recently. LOL They've always been around...

Definitely a post that I can cosign on and not add a damn thing to but, "Hope for the best, prepare for the worst." That doesn't mean you go into a marriage thinking horrible stuff, but as we all know (as history, family & society has shown) anything can happen. Be prepared, so you have choices. I'll have to remember this quote from you Scorp_Chic, "Lame ass men were not just brought to existence recently...they've always been around."

Ah, but I think those bridezillas are a bit of an exaggeration, or so I would hope! In my planning, I think I've been pretty low-key about it. I'm just thinking of inviting about 100 people or so and nothing too, too extravagant or showy, but just surrounded by my fave people. I am soooo excited!! I just wish October was here already 😛

Congrats on finding on tying the knot in the near future! *Raises his beer* May it last until the end 🙂

Yeah I do agree. I think people need to be more careful about deciding who to marry because you can't make a vow like that to God if you don't intend to keep it. Some women will think they got a dream-guy just because he's rushing her down the aisle but he could be doing it for his own selfish reasons -- like tax benefits. (it's silly, but it happens.)
A lot of older couples will also tell you that they married early, after only knowing them for a few months or weeks. Certainly it had nothing to do with love, not so soon anyway. I'm sure overtime they fell in love... and some really do have some happy-ever after endings that lasted for years on years.

I wanna get married someday, it's been my dream since I was a little girl. 🙂 But I would have to be with the man for years and years before making that serious commitment.. because people change, you think you know them and then they come out the costume.
Divorce is not really an option for me unless there's repeated infidelity or abuse or something serious like that. When I do get married, I really, really want it to be for keeps. So I am taking my time, while other women are rushing to the alter just to wear the white dress.

This may sound totally fucking morbid but I like the stories where a couple has been together and married for SOOO long that when one of them passes, the other passes very soon after because life isn't life without that person. My buddies grandparents pretty much had that ending. They were married at a very young age, lived through the times of WWII, and were together until she passed. If I remember right, his grandfather lasted 3 months tops before he followed her into the dark.
