Do you remember your first year of school?

For some reason I dont remember a thing...apart from 2 or 3 ...I remember staring at the walls in class....day dreaming...I remember chasing girls and getting in trouble for it...lol I remember getting punched in the face and losing a front tooth...but that's really about it. Wondering if ppl usually remember their 1st year.

I can remember back to 6 months old. I can remember each and every year...all things good and bad.

Really? You remember being a baby? What kind of memories...

I remember going to college classes with my dad. Sitting in the cafeteria with him etc. I remember my mom singing to me, each and every house we lived in. My memories are clear and vivid.

Freak..lol kidding. That's amazing...my first memory is probably my room, as a toddler...2, 3 years old maybe. I don't have many.

I remember some things about preschool, kindergarten, second and third grade . I remember in preschool we had to walk on stage and say what we wanted to be when we grew up while "I Believe I Can Fly" played in the background. Haha. I said "When I grow up I want to be a police woman!". I'm not a police officer but I am in the crim field. There's other things I remember like making macaroni pictures and riding bikes.
In third grade I was out in recess and this girl a grade lower than me approached me. We talked for a bit before she got stung by a bee and had to go to the nurse. I reconnected with her in college through friends but she doesn't remember that happening. It was definitely her because she has a physical handicap and that's easy to remember, unfortunately.

I probably have older memories but the timeline and ages for most of my memories is lost to me, now.

I have a very hard time recalling old memories as well. I don't have many memories from Elementary School at all.

I know people who have a lot of memories from being a child, and I don't really at all. What do you think causes this for some of us?

Here we have 2 Pisces who remember a lot, and Scorp (you) and Cancer(me) don't remember much...

In Kindergarten, I remember spending a lot of time standing in a corner --- for talking too much.

i also remember getting kissed by a boy at the water fountain. It was a peck kind of kiss, then he ran away.

(he ended up being our class Valedictorian).

I remember my first year of school (3 yr old kiddy-garden) -- snippets of it, anyway.

I know I had a hard time fitting my bear in my cubby. 😐

My mother said I told her that if she really loved me, she wouldn't

leave me there... I don't remember that, but it sounds like me.

I remember the ink being so think on the copied 'worksheets' they gave

us, that you could actually feel it on the paper.

We also had a thing where a different person stood up every morning with

the teacher and said TODAY IS... FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, NINETEEN

HUNDRED AND SEV.... anyway, yeah.

I knew ALL my friends middle names, too... even then.

(That may have been my second year.)

My teachers name was Mrs. Gentle and I loved her I used to give her foot massages while she read to us lol. I remember a lot of kids crying and wanting their parents to stay and I was so happy to be in kindergarten, my school was the best, if a kid ever cried all the other kids would rush to the kids and make everything was OK.

Then in year 1 my parents moved me to another school and instead of having a blue uniform I had to wear brown and my first day I was eating my lunch while standing up and a teacher screamed "sit down" and I didn't realise you're not allowed to stand and eat because kids choked back In Those days apparently.....then my first day I'm class we were sitting down and the teacher was playing a song on guitar that all the kids knew and I didn't know the words just listening and enjoying, then she stops playing everyone turns to me and she and asked me " are you a part of the group"? And I didn't know what she meant or how to answer so I said " I don't know" and she said "go sit over there by yourself then, so I did, and that was when I started hating school.

I remember too much. So many random things.

Could probably name all 29 of my colleagues with the seating arrangements too.

My first memory of the first day of school was seeing my best friend in kindergarden get assigned to another class and the devastating pain (lol) I felt at that event. Then running after him and refusing to leave the classroom until I got assigned into the same class, which happened.

I can remember some things as well...I remember my first friend was a black girl and I remember the way her hair smelled like pineapple and she had braids with beads and I thought that was so fucking cool...she gave me a sparkly one because I liked them so much.

I also remember being bullied by her black friends on the play ground. They were in other classes but we'd see them at recess...and they would tell her not to play with me cause I was a cracker. (My earliest memory of prejudice as a white girl)

Oh and about a month into kindergarten my teacher left to go to another school, which I didn't even know was an option for them, but I was devastated because I had just gotten to the point where I didn't scream and cry and try to chase after my mom when she'd drop me off. (I was a very independent child, but very weary of strangers - I blame my scorp parts)

We got a new teacher whose name was Powell...who I called Ms Pal. Well she had to spend a day touring the other kindergarten classes at the end of her first week and I got so hysterical at the news that she was leaving us with the sub that she had to take me with her. Lol so embarassing

I saw the other kids the next day and they teased me and called me a baby but I didn't give a shit...joke was on them...I hung out all day eating snacks while they were in class
