DXP Survivor

It's about that time again. We'll be starting off with two teams and whittling them down until it's a handful of individuals pitted against one another. A few other changes, too, but we can get to all of that later. If you've played before, you're welcome to play again, although I would like to see some newcomers sign up. Who's interested?

Can you expand on the rules? I always tried to read the topics in the last years..but I never mastered the patience.

Well... I'd play again buuuut I played this last time during the school semester and it took too much of my time. If the start date is say after the beginning of May then I could for sure give some attention to it while I'm out from school.

OR

If the debates were not so time constrained to just 24 hours.
If a debate could last a week I could swing that I suppose.
I understand that part of the element to the game is the time constraint however.

I totally agree with you... I was just suggesting that amount of time in case my teachers get insane and assign alot of work to do OR I have finals. I suppose 2 or 3 days would be sufficcient to allow me some leeway in those scenarios though. I honestly, would rather the 24 hour period if I didn't have school to contend with just because I feel it is sort of an essential element to the game no?

Everything has run on a 24 hour cycle previously, so your evening unavailability needn't necessarily exclude you.

Similar, but not identical. Given that we haven't started yet, though, suggestions are welcome.

It's fun, Twinkle! 🙂

It's the DXP version of the Survivor TV show. Debates, scavenger hunts, plotting the demise of your enemies, etc. The debates take center stage, but it's actually much more a game of strategy than it at first appears.

Post the debate topics and challenges you'd like to see here. If you don't want everyone to know they were your idea, PM them to me and I'll post them anonymously. There's no guarantee any will be used, but you never know...

I did.
I only said anything because he said those who played before could participate.
I suppose it would be unfair for me to play since others who had played before in the initial DXP survivor were not able to participate in the survivor that I played in.

We'll start off with two teams that will debate a series of topics. The losing team will have to vote off a member of their team. The members of the winning team will each receive one point. The points awarded to the winning team members will increase with each debate. When there are only a handful of players left, the teams will be disbanded and the debates will become every (wo)man for him/herself.

The debates are all of essentially equal difficulty, although the difficulty of the challenges increases over time. The challenges are held between debates. The winner of the challenge has immunity and cannot be voted off, but can cast a vote for who gets the boot. The winner of each challenge will also receive an extra point. After a player has been given the boot, the audience will vote to decide who from the winning team should take the other's place.

It is possible one or more opportunities may be presented during the game for an immunity idol to be claimed that could be used at any later point in time of its owner's choosing to nullify a vote for his/her ouster. When such opportunities will occur, if they occur, will not be advertised in advance.

There may be a few other details, but I think that covers the gist of it.

The sacrifices are the best part. 😄

The teams will be reorganized by the audience over the course of the game, one player at a time following each vote.

Who will decide which of the team wins in debates? Is there a judging panel for that?

Interactions between players are confined to the topic or it goes into PM's also?

The players can interact with whomever they would like in whatever manner they see fit. 😈

The outcome of the debates will be determined by The Judge. That's me.

The determination will generally be in favor of the team or individual that best argues his/her position and/or most successfully weakens the opposition. The rules will vary slightly between topics, so I cannot tell you exactly what they will be. You can attack based on anything you like. That which is not specifically prohibited is permitted. This is so your kind of game, Virgo.

The rules are very clear. Vanquish your opponents, claim your prize, collateral damage be damned.
