Well I'm treating my scorp guy/coworker to dinner at my place tomorrow night. We've known eachother for a couple years now amd started seeing eachother. Although this is our first official "date" away from work or work functions. We have lunch often and he always pays, so I wamt to do something nice.

Idk, I might be projecting here but I don't see first dates at someone's place as dates. The lack of effort to find something worthwhile to do outside spells a different picture for me.
I guess it depends on the dynamic too.
For me, if I invite you over on a first date...we're not really dating. I don't even formulate it as a date..you'll get the correct meaning really quick.
Roll with the pubches. I have gotten into bed on a girst date before. I also gotten into bed on like 6th date before as well, depending on the guy.
Neither of those relationships were doomed by either of those actions, and ended for other reasons.

Yeah, it's about the dynamic really, for me.. I mean, the majority of my boyfriends were my friends first so the official "first date" wasn't always a big deal, and I kinda like the lack of formality.
But with someone I don't know at all.. it just doesn't feel right. It's not about sex or getting killed, it just doesn't feel right.. it's sort of forcing a level of comfort that just isn't there yet, on my end at least.

Well looking at these replies kinda feel that these days really hard to find someone with genuine intention. Its actually a very sincere gesture to cook for you because it means he wants to make it special & not just spending cash to buy a meal for you. Well it has to depend on the type of guy. For me i will do this if i like her a lot, its not about treetrunking that person. You have to judge whether he's a good person though & not just aiming to treetrunk because well anything can happen in private. If you are not confident, just go public.
