Yeah I don't really get the inflated appeal. She seems "relate-able" for a celebrity and she is quite funny and obviously pretty, but I still don't think she's all that.

I don't think she's lost any of her charm tbh. Sure the reporter might've needed some help for translation purposes, though I feel like if that's the case I feel like that reporter probably failed at his job.
Sure she probably shouldn't have snapped at him for being behind a phone but her sentiments I agree with, I absolutely hate when people don't look at me when speaking no matter what the setting is, especially if it's a question for me.
End of the day people loved her for her, what she did, it's no exception. I don't think she was trying to be funny it's just an unfortunate side effect when you're famous and suddenly everything you've been doing that made you famous turns against you.
