dejection

loneliness

depression

I did this with a job though and some money.

first few nights I actually slept on park benches. it was summer. then eventually homeless shelters. then eventually found a friend to shack up with.

but it was probably the most depressing period of my life in retrospect. but hey without the bitter, you can't taste the sweet lol

i can't imagine being a female through all that tho.
Huh. Same, except I just rented a room out eventually since I didn't have any friends around. Taught me alot about myself, about crawling out of a pit to the light. It really changed me when I was younger.

Highly recommend you move in with a friend or rent a room and have 3 months of room rent saved. The rest you can figure out on the fly tbh.

I dont have friends in that city, thats my major problem. Plus its like the city where EVERYONE moves in,so chances of getting a free place/couch to stay are pretty low

Find the average room rent cost, save up weekly a percentage till you hit a 3 month mark, while looking for roommates through rent a room websites. Also, not to be a dic#, but your major problem right now is you never had to survive.

Yes, I am aware of that. Thus moving out, to see how i manage.

This is the biggest problem of being an Indian. Your parents cocoon you like anything. Especially if you are a girl.

i don't think it's the same as moving out for westerners. it's easier to get part times and side gigs. like you can hand out flyers and get paid 5 bucks wtf that's a whole months salary here!
I thought you were a Taurus, not virgo.

Regarding handing out flyers, the thing is women dont do stuff like that here. Atleast the ones who dont want to get leered on/ catcalled at or face molestation.

Moreover, out here, a person's career is seen as more of how they stand in the society. Out west, my friend works at a restaurant while paying her tuition fee and nobody out there looks down on her. Here, they automatically assume you are goof for nothing if you do stuff like that (it shows in the way they talk to you).

If it's voluntary, then it's a stupid decision.

The hardest thing about moving out was having less money to spend on b.s.
Yes Its voluntary. But I badly need a change of environment. The city I am currently in does not match my personality.

You know why else won't match your personality?

Going hungry. Being cold at night. Sleeping with one eye open because you fear assault. Turning tricks where rape and violence go hand in hand to put food in your belly.

Don't go from a bad situation to a worse one because your impatient to escape your current circumstances.

This is excellent advice. I'd take this a step further and say save 3 months of ALL your expenses, rent, cell phone, gas/transportation, food, healthcare, etc.

This will be the money that keeps you off the street if you ever loose your job. You have 3 months to find another one.

On top of this amount you should then save up your moving cost. Which, typically, will be your first and last month plus a deposit.

Renting a room is the way to go. You only need to furnish your room which means less expenses. Also typically the Internet/cable is included in that rent amount meaning one less bill to pay each month.

I recently downsized my living situation and am renting a room and it's been the best decision. I'm paying almost half of what it would cost to rent a one bedroom apartment in the complex next door. And I'm renting a room from a house so the common spaces (living room, dinning, kitchen) are much larger then they would be in an apartment. Plus secured parking and outdoor space. It's heaven here and I'm able to save 50% + of my income.
