It's not a good idea to vote for someone who's tactless and a bigot. The president must be someone who is diplomatic. Sure, you might not want her because she's fond of saying things just to please people... but that's precisely what a quintessential President must do: he/she's gonna deal with representatives of other countries so being amicable is some trait that one President has to have.

Yes, Trump tells it how it is. He never sugarcoats anything. But by just saying anything without even thinking twice, he could incite other countries to start wars with America. You don't want that to happen. Somebody likened him to Reagan in one post. However, there's one substantial difference between the two: Reagan is tactful but Trump is tactless and a bigot.

I have to disagree. I did vote for Hillary once before as my state senator. Never again! She had her chance and proved to be an incapable leader. I can't believe that these are the 2 best candidates out there. It is absolutely ridiculous.

I dislike them both but I'm voting Trump. There is a reason why Hillary is so despised in upstate NY. She was involved in many projects and deals that hurt us but benefited her own interests.

Correction:

To the first point, I said that the criticisms used against Trump are the same ones that were used against Reagan.

-Loose cannon

-Bigot

-Racist

-Idiot

And to much the same extent, these criticisms are lobbed at every Rebublican in or out of office. It's really just a page in the Democrat handbook. Most people are too myopic to see it though, because it's mostly just brought up every 2-4 years.

And to your second point, Reagan was never seen by the opposition as being tactful. History may have been more kind but not when he was President.

As to others who see parallels between the two, here are some:

Dude I don't endorse this topic at all. We have more options than Drumpf and Killery. I'm voting third party. Not choosing the next leader of our country and ultimately the puppeteer in the next 4-8 years of my fate based on who is the lesser evil.

We're talking war, food safety, and our freedom here. Not voting for her just because trump is a meany and CNN says it'll make me feel better.

NOT WITH HER

My only problem with Johnson is he literally does not give a f about environmental issues. He's so lax like, "Oh whatevs. It'll work itself out. Businesses will do the right thing." And I can't take Jill seriously. I've kept up with her and she just doesn't seem like a leader to me at all. I don't think she could accomplish anything whatsoever in office.

I'm going on my own experiences. I can surely do a web search for more examples but these are three local issues that still stick in my head and are why she is disliked so much in my area. Keep in mind that I am an independent and always have been and I actually really liked Hillary at one point and I did help vote her in.

1. The promise of jobs was a lie. She did many ribbon cuttings and press conferences touting job growth in our economically depressed cities. Money was poured into buildings that failed to produce. She made these claims knowing that there was no tenants or companies that were secured. This always happened right around an election. If anything, upstate NY was left with less employers and jobs, not the 100k more that she promised.

2. Prisons-a lot can be said about the prison system and this area has quite a few. Families move from NYC to be closer to the prisons. It is also much easier to receive welfare benefits upstate and the cost of living is less expensive. Inmates are released into this area instead or their home counties. In return, our crime rate has skyrocketing and so has the poverty level. Hilary helped get funding for an inmate resettlement program in the area. There are only 2 in the state. She promised to keep our neighborhoods safe and then flooded the streets with sex offenders.

3. This one irritates me the most. It has to do with a native casino that is my neighbor. They were denied a liquor license from the state for many years. The state finally approved the license but stated that all liquor must be provided by an outside vendor. Many vendors placed bids but only one got the contract. Hillary's friend and our legislator at the time's husband! This is a huge casino. One of the top ten in the world and they only approved one vendor? Her friend's husband and campaign donor?

It was just so shady.

I realize that there were other politicians involved as well and if they were running for president I would use the same examples.

These are personal experiences, not biased reporters or people from the opposite side of the country. Trust me when I tell you that she is hated around here. If she gets any votes they will be from people that don't like Trump more, not from people that actually like her.

Snopes it.

It all started on Thursday, Nov. 19, when a Yahoo News reporter asked Trump about his position on increased surveillance of American Muslims.

"France declared this state of emergency where they closed the borders and they established some degree of warrantless searches. I know how you feel about the borders, but do you think there is some kind of state of emergency here, and do we need warrantless searches of Muslims?" the reporter asked.

"We’re going to have to do certain things that were frankly unthinkable a year ago," Trump said.

The Yahoo reporter then asked Trump, "Do you think we might need to register Muslims in some type of database, or note their religion on their ID?"

Trump responded, "We’re going to have to look at a lot of things very closely. We’re going to have to look at the mosques. We’re going to have to look very, very carefully."

Here, Trump didn’t reject the idea of a Muslim registry, but he also didn’t give an affirmative "yes" that he wanted to create such a database.

It escalated the next day.

^^^ France never closed their borders. They should but didn't and haven't. They have thousands upon thousands of unchecked people (mainly young men who are not genuine refugees trying their luck to gain entry to the UK illegally) roaming around causing issues. They arrived there via Italy, Greece etc. The EU is designed to be borderless. It's what they want. Thank heavens for Brexit! ??

Good post though. Interesting read. I think people jumped over Trump unfairly on this point.

Factchecking him is a challenge because he constantly rambles so much bs it's nearly impossible to keep track of it all. Snopes fail.

Probably because he thinks things like borders, security checks, checks on people who are coming from or who have travelled to countries such as Syria, Iran, Iraq etc are a good idea. As a British citizen, if I have travelled to those countries (and a few others) and I now want to travel to the USA, I must apply for a visa and undergo additional security checks. I cannot use the waiver scheme. I'm not Muslim and Trump didn't change this process. It's already happening. Not just to Muslims.

If you read the timeline of the controversy, he finally clarified his position to George Stefanopolis (hardly a right wing shill).

He hasn't ever said anything more about it, and neither has the press except to sling the xenophobe title on him.

They don't say anything because he never supported what you claim he does.

Databases? We're ALL in a database (except for undocumented immigrants) for a drivers license, the IRS, and social security. People known or suspected of being an internal threat are already on watch lists. I don't see him advocating for anything different other than applying and enforcing existing law (which isn't being done and hasn't been for 20 years.

But you can have whatever opinion you'd like on it.

Unfortunately there is a huge problem with terrorists from certain countries and of certain backgrounds. My neighbor's son got arrested last year for aiding ISIS. I know another man whose brother died in Syria fighting for ISIS. Both of these men entered the US on refugee visas. If a threat is coming from a certain part of the world then it is absolutely necessary to be more vigilant about background checks. That is not racist, it is smart. I am hardly one to be called racist or anti Muslim.

Still better than Trump.
Watch this

truthfully I watched the video and I'M STILL GONNA VOTE FOR HILLARY ..I can't vote for a bigot ...I just can't.... trump has RUINED this election at this point hillary could email PUTIN a picture of my titties and my social security number and I would STILL vote for her over trump ....what about all the terrible stuff ..trump has said it doesn't bother you ...and how about ALL the lies he has told ...recently what about that ...
Vote for her if you want. She's grossly negligent and a horrible person. I'd much rather someone tell me what they are gonna upfront than Jane some sneaky bitch say something and have zero intention of actually doing it.

You might vote for someone who don't give a flying fuck about you or this country, and that's your right. There's no way in hell I would. I'd vote communist Putin in office before I voted for her disgusting ass

I love this country! love it ...this is my home ...and I love EVERYTHING that this country stands for ....I understand your voting for who you feel is best ...but please understand that I am too....

Here is Gary Johnson on the environment:

https://www.johnsonweld.com/environment

"We need to stand firm to protect our environment for our future generations, especially those designated areas of protection like our National Parks. Consistent with that responsibility, the proper role of government is to enforce reasonable environmental protections. Governor Johnson did that as Governor, and would do so as President."

Thanks. But I disagree with his stance. He supports big oil and fracking etc because he feel it's more important to support a free economy than to interfere and regulate to protect the environment. Here's a quote from the link you shared:

"Johnson does not, however, believe the government should be engaging in social and economic engineering for the purpose of creating winners and losers in what should be a robust free market. Preventing a polluter from harming our water or air is one thing. Having politicians in Washington, D.C., acting on behalf of high powered lobbyists, determine the future of clean energy innovation is another.

In a healthy economy that allows the market to function unimpeded, consumers, innovators, and personal choices will do more to bring about environmental protection and restoration than will government regulations driven by special interests. Too often, when Washington, D.C. gets involved, the winners are those with the political clout to write the rules of the game, and the losers are the people and businesses actually trying to innovate.

When it comes to global climate change, Johnson and Weld believe that the politicians in Washington, D.C. are having the wrong debate.

Is the climate changing? Probably so.

Is man contributing to that change? Probably so."

My ex husband entered the US in the mid 90's on refugee status. So did my most recent ex. They are both Muslim's and they both support Trump and his immigration policy. They both experienced Hillary as their senator too.

There is nothing wrong with strong borders and careful vetting of immigrants.
just curious, why are they exes?

Long long stories for both.

I was married and have 2 children with one. We were together for many years. I would say he was controlling and liked his alcohol.

Most recent one I was with for five years and still consider him the love of my life but he pretty much dropped me. He has PTSD and other issues.

And I am far from perfect so I'm sure some has to do with me.

no its not...but if your gonna vet immigrants...its SHOULD BE ALL IMMIGRANTS...not just one specific group of people cause you know thats ..racist ..—?
Unfortunately there is a huge problem with terrorists from certain countries and of certain backgrounds. My neighbor's son got arrested last year for aiding ISIS. I know another man whose brother died in Syria fighting for ISIS. Both of these men entered the US on refugee visas. If a threat is coming from a certain part of the world then it is absolutely necessary to be more vigilant about background checks. That is not racist, it is smart. I am hardly one to be called racist or anti Muslim.

lol .....no ...its ...still racist? your neighbor's son and the man whose brother you know died in syria fighting for ISIS ..DOES NOT REPRESENT ALL MUSLIMS? LIKE AT ALL (the fact that you or anyone else would suggest that it is representative of all Muslim is racist )...its like saying that if a black person commits a crime ...then all black people are criminals? no!?!? if a white person commits a murder then all white people are murderers?? what no?!?!?!
