The freaking psycho parents. It doesn’t matter what disability one has, not wearing a damn mask is a health risk to others so they just better keep their asses at home if they can’t wear a mask during a PANDEMIC and just come back when things get better and masks aren’t necessary.
https://www.adasoutheast.org/ada/publications/legal/ada-and-face-mask-policies.php
Basically, a private business would have to offer reasonable accommodations to someone with a disability than hinders the use of a face mask, except in a situation where:
1. A fundamental alteration would need to be made to the service provided.
2. The accommodation would cause an undue financial or administrative burden (significant difficulty of expense)
3. The individual with a disability poses a direct threat to the health or safety of other.
So I ask.. what accommodation could be made for this child in a crowded theme park? Not many, if any at all.
Also note.. the ADA requires no “reasonable accommodation” for face masks, as doing so would pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others.
Also, you're aware of the mask policy before you even book your trip.
Simply wait until the mask policy is lifted.
In a perfect world the parents are to blame for bringing their autistic child to a theme park during a pandemic where mask are required and refusing to do so putting their child's health in danger.....
But... Disney will probably be sued for this incident and no one will recognize that they are trying to keep their employees and other idiots going to a theme park during a pandemic safe.
I had a split second yesterday where I said to myself "we should go to Disney" but then I remembered the pandemic and was like fuck no. I live in Florida and live about an hour from Disney....I have gone a million times and can wait till the pandemic subsides to go again. It's not that big of a deal. Altho, the lines are probably shorter then usual right now so that would be nice. I dont think they can let as many people in as they usual do. I know Busch Gardens you have to make reservations in order to go.
Bottom line- no mask no service. It’s not like Disney land is a place that the family is required to go.
Florida is a hot mess.
That is all.
I think the whole mask thing, at least in America is ridiculous. Either American is just dumb as shit, or its true and covid isn't as bad as we think. I started to realize this when I tested a pullover mask from the store. Many people wear these, they are super comfortable, breathable, cool looking, and $ 3. Thing is I can blow out a candle from exactly 8 feet with it on. So much for the 6 feet thing. Might as well not even have a mask on at all at that point. The homemade mask I bought from an elderly lady in my neighborhood early on the pandemic bs is another story. Nothing is getting out of that thing. I couldn't even make the flame move at 7 inches away.
So tbh, I feel America should just accept the fact we are dumb af and not make masks mandatory in public. That or enforce the public to wear a masks that actually work. Judging by the attitude on many Americans the only way to do that is beat them to a bloody a pulp till they get it, otherwise they won't.
See what I'm saying leftists— When you pray to that golden mask at night what does it say 😆

Your completely missing the purpose of the mask 🤦♀️🤦♀️
The mask fabric catches respiratory droplets when you talk, cough, sneeze. It’s not meant to block your exhale/air from going anywhere.

So why do they sell masks that do none of that, but as long as you have it on no one will bat an eye?
Have you ever seen the comparison of fabric compared to covid on a microscopic level? It's like throwing a cherry pit through a chain link fence. Cheap breathable masks are even worse then that.

I bought one and tested it out (do many people even do that)? The sprayed water went straight through it
Do your research people...

I agree with that 100% . Especially the part at the end about people touching their face even more. I always felt that was the biggest flaw with the mask thing. I honestly touch my face 10 times more in a day just putting on a mask/ adjusting it. I also agree its wasting resources for those who truly need a mask for work, or other covid related situations. I feel if you have no symptoms, accept the idea of social distance, and keep clean that should be enough. I'll admit there are many people in America, and other places that aren't that responsible though, which makes it bad for all of us.

Yes social distancing is very important as is hand washing. So I’ve seen mask wearers standing close to each other and just say one sneezes and the mask doesn’t work then hello Covid.
Do people not think of these things?

Respiratory droplets are not microscopic.
#1 and #2
The quality of the mask, whether it’s cheap or not, isn’t very important. Keeping the droplets from being airborne is its purpose.
Wearing the mask pulled down where your nose is exposed defeats the purpose of the mask altogether.

I guessed this a long time ago....

I just read an article about Disney World not allowing a family to enter the park because their 7 year old autistic daughter was not wearing a face mask. The father recorded the interaction and was asking the worker why his daughter, with sensory processing issues, had to wear a mask. The father then straight up asked if the worker/Disney was violating the Americans with Disabilities Act.
My question is - is a crowded theme park with long ass lines in the middle of a Florida summer really the best environment for someone (especially a child) with a propensity for sensory overload?
I don't know too much about autism, but I imagine it's a struggle as a parent to balance the child's sensory differences while also letting them experience the things most children crave (i.e. excess stimulation in the form of cartoons, sugar, theme parks, etc).
So who (if anyone) is at fault in this scenario?
