Has anyone gone skydiving? Do you have any interest in doing so? If you've been do you have any tips or words of wisdom? I ask because I'm going very soon.

Posted by CancerOnTheCuspIt's going to be a tandem jump, so I'm assuming that's harnessed? I'll need to look into it.Posted by ChuckcemStatic line or harnessed? (Freefall is completely different).

If you do static line, avoid waving your arms and legs in the freefall, it will risk tangling your lines when the chute deploys.
Most places will have ground communications--listen to the instructions.
A large square chute is the best for control on the way down.
Pay close attention to the instructor--they've been through many jumps and know their stuff.
Enjoy the ride 🙂
And if all else fails, walk towards the light.click to expand

Posted by ChickpeasInteresting. I don't have those phobias, but I'm curious to know how your phobia of water was incorporated into the jump? I'm assuming you mean that you have a fear of swimming when you say "water" correct? Did you jump near a coast?Posted by ChuckcemYes, once at 14000 feet - tandem jump

I always wanted to do it and waited for the courage to manifest ... 2 years on and it's still not forthcoming so I just did it.
Tips - Just go with open mind and experience it.
For me that was exhilarating, scary as hell and made me wonder if death or this is worse ;
because I have phobia of height, water and small airplane, so all included in one tripclick to expand

Posted by ChuckcemThen it's great if you don't have any of those phobias. I think it will be enjoyable for you.Posted by ChickpeasInteresting. Posted by ChickpeasThat's awesome! Face those fears and kick them in the butt! I still want to scuba dive, I've only been snorkeling, which was pretty fun still.Posted by ChuckcemThen it's great if you don't have any of those phobias. May I ask why do you want to do it ?
Yes, I was "thrown out" near a coast. I can swim and have no problem swimming at pool.
Phobia is more for ocean, I am afraid of sea... and am heading to scuba dive soon 😭
Don't understand why I am so masochistic

Posted by SsupermanI'm not really a puker, but that's good to know. I've got over 60 jumps under my belt with 3 combat jumps at 1500 ft.
Don't let him spin you too much, you'll hurl. It's ok if you do hurl, most people do with all the nerves and the shockclick to expand

Posted by cornmaizesharkYeah I don't plan on doing too much afterward.
Dawg, just make sure you don't have much to do for the rest of the day. It's a huge adrenaline rush, so you feel super alive and really nice but might crash and be a bit exhausted a few hours afterwards.
And ENJOY 😆

Posted by MiZLeoNice, I'll keep that in mind. I do have friends in Florida though and I visit from time to time. Where is the school located?Posted by ChuckcemAh, ok. Was curious because my brother in law owns a skydiving school in Fl. Altho I have never been I know a lot in the community I could have hooked you up with them 🙂Posted by MiZLeoNo, I'm on the opposite coast.Posted by ChuckcemYesPosted by MiZLeoDo you mean in Florida?
