I haven’t drank in 9 years, contemplating 1 glass of wine. However..

For some reason, I feel like if I have a glass of wine, that I will feel shame. I’ve never been a big drinker, although I did drink some in my 20’s. I get this almost sickness in my tummy when I think of un-doing the not drinking thing. Although I have no problem being around others who do, and never have unless they take things too far in some way.

Maybe I’m looking for clarification that it’s Ok, I don’t know..

Opinions?

do what you want

you know you don't need other people to tell you what or what not to do JFC

only you will need to live with your overthinking/overworrisome mind

you make me want to take a drink

😕

Did bad things happen when you drank before?

Most people don't think about it in this way.

No, I just feel like it would be unfamiliar to me and I've been so long without it.. why do it? I don't know exactly why I feel that way.

If I thought my opinoin mattered maybe I would

It does.

I don't understand what you're so worried about?

Are you with holding some information that might make your difficulty with this make more sense?

No, I already divulged that. It was always a problem in my family and I see what it can do to people.

Obviously you have mixed feelings about this, but what makes you feel like having a drink now? If it's simple curiosity I don't think it's a big deal but if there's a reason, like something is troubling you, I probably wouldn't. I'd ask yourself why..

If you don't think drinking is for you...maybe you should declare straight edge...i have been smoke free, drug free, and alcohol free for more than 6 years...just a suggestion though...

sXe 4 life ?

I went out to have dinner with a female friend/colleague last night and even though I was tempted I did not have the wine. I thought about what you said all day yesterday, and it is what helped me to make my mind up. So, thank you.

I definitely can say I've been a straight edge for at least 9 years now.. Love the symbol too, very cute and creative. 🙂

one of our uncles quit drinking for 3 years, and now he's got a gall bladder stone and the doctors tell him that drinking a couple glasses of beer will help.

or back to drinking but of course moderate or one beer a day or every other day.

It's definitely okay. You clearly have good control of yourself.. Treat yourself if you feel the urge 🙂

Thank you Blackphase, I definitely do try to have good control of myself. 🙂

Do some of the doctors really know what the hell they are talking about?

I am the same and I also rarely drink. Once you refrain from doing it, it becomes really easy not to.. So I understand the mixed feelings about not wanting to. I find it easy now to just enjoy a glass of wine or something every now and again.. I am not able to drink enough to get drunk, but just a drink while relaxing is nice 🙂

That's exactly it too. I hadn't been out in years, and I kind of felt like I just wanted a drink to unwind. Plus the atmosphere was breathtaking, overlooking the ocean at sunset, seemed a perfect fit.

I'm glad to hear that you are Ok with a glass of wine every now and then, because it will make me think next time I feel like having one. You obviously have good self control yourself, 🙂

If you're not an alcoholic, then you're making an issue out of nothing.

What else is new in dxp

Thank you P-Angel.

It's a pleasure to read your insight, as always.

Hope you're feeling better, and doing well.

Wine is tricky

Even if you find a kind you like for example I know I like Cotes du Rhone and I think I bought some last year

It tasted too sweet from what I remember

There are different years and vineyards and.so and so

Vodka or beer is safer coz it always tastes the same is what I am saying

Thank you Ands.

You're right, it is tricky. That's another reason I kind of just got over it.

I'm allergic to the other two, so those are out.

Picked up my fav bottle of Riesling yesterday. One glass per day is recommended...I just have all 7 glasses in one night lol.

You're funny, haha. I wouldn't even know my own name if I had 7 glasses of wine.

Oh I hear they have Paleo wines connected to the paleo diet but I forget what makes them different compared to other wines

Is paleo, gluten free though? I know a lot of wines and other alcoholic beverages are made with wheat and barley.
