And why do people clap at movies for?? It's really weird
Yep, we're waiting until the hoopla dies down a bit. We don't do theaters but for this one, we will. There's a theater chain in our area called Cinetopia where the place is set up like a living room (some of the suites only hold 20 people) and I'd like to go there to see it.
We're big fans since the beginning.
I'm definitely watching it this weekend! I cannot wait.
Watched it but shall keep a tight lid on it because I do not want to be responsible for spoiling the experiences of others who have yet to see it.
😄
Loved it! It was sooo good
Got my tix for Christmas weekend
I saw it last night 😄
Not much to say because I wouldn't want to spoil for anyone.
Is 40 years of Star Wars not enough already?
ZZZZZZZZZZ
I drove all the way to the country to meet someone who bought me a ticket. Definitely going to IMAX soon.
it's pretty much a remake/rehash of the first 3 movies. It's assumed, but I hope they move to new ideas for the next installments.
It's a bit grating that everything revolves around the old protagonists and their family. 80 years old Harrison ford wearing the same old jacket and doing the same old butter kind of ruins the movie a bit.
It's good, but it's a pity that the prequels exist because you'd need to wipe them off your memory to really enjoy this.
Just don't go see it expecting anything that you haven't already seen in the original trilogy.

1. Nothing
2. That's why I commented; I just now noticed. In case you weren't aware, profiles didn't used to show on the avatar before the most recent upgrade when you're on a mobile phone.
On the internet, always assume it's a 40 years old guy

Ok I won't. Thanks Sultry.
I saw the new Star Trek trailer and I wept for he franchise
SO read some reviews and it comes down to "it's not terrible and it's not phenomenal, and it’s not a waste of money to see it on the big screen".
I still will see it in the theater. Now, Avatar is one that I'm glad I didn't waste $ 15 on.
I think it's impossible to recreate the effect of the very first Star Wars. I think too many people go in with those kinds of expectations and get disappointed.
I'm still looking forward to seeing it.
My general feelings on Star Wars, Star Trek, and the like "cult" shows. Especially if they span decades.

i think i'm gonna pass unless i have nothing to do on tuesday. i mean i missed spectre and i wouldn't pick this geekery over bond.
lol spectre is a lot more geeky than this, james bond has literally become like harry potter now, a dark gritty harry potter for adults but stil harry potter

It's wrth seing just for the 3D
Avatar sucked balls
in the last episode they just gave up trying to be edgy and quietly rebooted Blofeld and Jaws

The Boy and I saw it in the regular format and loved it. Felt it recaptured the heart of the original three films. Gonna see it again next week and take the girls. As far as the feminism comment someone else made, I don't understand your problem with it. Carrie Fisher was a strong presence in IV, V and VI, something terribly missing in I, II and III.
is luke skywalker still mark hamil?

Yes, he's in it.

*mind blown*he kinda looks like zach galafankis now though right?
I don't know who that is, but he got into a major car accident during (or just before) the filming of Empire Strikes Back amd it disfigured his face. I think aging has made it more noticeable.
But he's been a consistently working actor. He's the voice of a super villian (The Joker?) in an animated Batman show, and has played a lot of small roles in sci fi and comic book type series. He's currently a character in the TV show The Flash (again, plays a villain)
He's incredibly talented.

I think the accident made him look more weathered in "return" and it fit the character very well.
Recently I saw him in The Flash, very good show.

Yeah , it's almost like SF was completely dumb or sthg.
I LOVE BB8!!!!!!
Maybe cuz I am a Virgo and we are droids.
I must have this!!!

First 4 D movie experience.
Think we picked a good movie for it.
As for the rest of the plot..I didn't care past BB8. Lots of butthurt in the movie theater though.

So who went to the premier the other night? I sure did, even though I'm not a huge fan I'll sure be watching the movies again to revise the story,I think that's what makes a good sequel, making you want to catch up on older editions.
I would suggest watching this movie in 3D there are times where your gut drops in the flight scenes, the cinematography is divine and I love the sense of depth and scale of some of the scenes....I loved the black man in the movie and the famous cameos even Chanel#2 from scream queens was in there.
As a lover of sci fi genre I highly rate this movie as something to be enjoyed through the holidays, I even got my BF the memorabilia sip cup....
I do not suggest however going to a premier EVER! There are just too many weirdos in costumes and there's always people walking around brushing past me I just wanted to grab them by the shoulders and say Just fucking stand still you stupid cunt, you don't need to be here there and everywhere at once, just stay in line and watch the fucking movie......I even legit told my BF not to panic even though I was the one freaking out about being amongst a lot of people, it's really sad that I'm a 6ft tall black man but when I line up at movies I have anxiety issues lol.
