Aside from that, I have met women, ultra feminine women who consider themselves butch and handle their very outwardly stone butch girlfriends like a man would handle his woman.

That's only 1/100th of the butch/femme dynamics.
When you talk of masculinity, there are 3 types of masculinity - the mindset, the gender (social conditioning/outward appearance) and then sexuality.
You identify with the mindset. But not gender nor sexuality. You are still considered butch, but not in the LGBT context.
And I'm at work at the moment so a bit hard to quote extracts from butch/femme dynamics.
