I am considering a move to Vegas. I know I need to visit first to get a better idea of it.

But I am curious of what people who have lived there's experiences were like. Is there a solid job market there?

I know downtown vegas is dangerous. What would the safe parts be?

How is the dating scene? I know a lot of people say Vegas is not for people who want serious relationships because that is hard to find there.

But at the same time, I am not looking for anything meaningful at this point. Just a casual fwb or open dating policy.

I'm kind of burnt out on relationships and am focused on self-improvement both financially and personally for the time being. But at the same time would like a f-buddy to take care of the physical needs.

Is it possible to pull casual dating relationships with locals there?

lol I don't do the FWB or fuck buddy thing so I have no clue on if there is a good supply here. I would imagine there is that any place tbh.

As for living. if you don't mind sweltering heat it's the place for you. I love the sunshine. but some days the 115-120 degree weather just makes me wish I lived elsewhere. I grew up in Washington state so was a huge adjustment the 1st year.

Depends on your field of work in all honesty. Job market is tough in some areas- casinos, you have to know someone to get in usually. Many folks have a get rich, make money fast mentality and they crash and Burn. I would suggest staying away from those unless its at the desk area or more on the hotel side vs tables etc, Construction- soo many out here in that industry already, market is saturated. We still haven't fully recovered from the economy dip in 2008, I think we are just coming out the tail end of it. They do predict that we will have job growth in the next 12 months fiscally, so it might be the time to come.. again depending on your industry.

Folks also think rents are cheap here- they are cheaper than other areas but the average price on a 1 bedroom in a good area is at least $ 1000 a month or more, 2bedrooms are $ 1300 and up. if you are looking to rent a house you might find better pricing but be careful, you don't get scammed. purchasing is a good idea if you want investment property.

Keep in mind cost of living is lower in Vegas but so is pay less than other areas. you might make 20/hr in say Washington but the same job here pays 15.

Thanks for the intel. Reason I ask about FWB is Vegas has the rep for a hookup culture. It's not that I am anti-relationship, I just need to get my life in order professionally then personally.

With relationships you need bank for that. I have to be solid financially and living-wise before considering that. Also I'm looking into therapy to work out some issues related to past traumas as I dont want to bring that into a potential relationship.

But at the same time, my sag mars rears its ugly head so I have the hormones of a teenager still. Which is why I pursue girls that dont want to be tied down. And are fine with a simple d donation

I know cost of living is tricky there and would most likely need to do a roommate situation no matter how weary I am of it.

I know I will need at 8-10,000.00 for set up money. I am weary a little bit of vegas due to the safety issue. But it is better than Florida which has cities well known for hook up culture due to the hurricanes. I am not interested in having to relocate once or twice a year due to a hurricane.

It's up in the air for me. But I am trying to get out of my living situation by February of next year. Santa Barbara is great, but I am close to being driven nuts by my former friend and then the creepy older roommate. Even if I have just 3000.00 in my account in february I am leaving. But not to Vegas if it is that amount
