What precautions should I take to having a best friend with HPV?

So my friend confided in me that she has hpv, we’re really tight she spends the night at my place all the time vice versa. So she’s known she’s had it for a year. And yet she still sleeps with guys without a condom. And she tries to normalize it by saying 1 in 3 ppl have it and saying I could have it or my man. Idk all this is unsettling. I don’t want to end our friendship because she’s a hoe lol but would it be wrong to not to want to have her spend the night anymore? I mean hpv is warts, & the fact she tries to make it seem like everyone has it & it’s not a big deal makes me worried that she wouldn’t take precautions at my house. I’ve worn bathing suits from her & all. What should I do to take extra precautions to make sure I’m not exposed?

Hpv is not warts lmao.

But if you judge her as a ho then why continue with the fake friendship. Just call it

I’m not judging her at all & she identifies herself as one lmao. So who’s the one judging? I asked a question to prevent myself from getting it. Because she’s hella chill about it, doesn’t use condoms and her boyfriend doesn’t even know yet. She shares drinks with ppl. So ya I feel like I should be worried. I don’t know anything about or just how you can catch it.

I thought this was an ADVICE COLUMN but it seems ppl with no life just come on here to judge & troll ppl. I asked a question because I’m not sure if we can share sheets, share drinks or clothes like normal friends do. The ONLY reason she told me is because her ex exposed her so she was forced to or else I wouldn’t even know. If you don’t want to answer the question then find a more worthy question to answer then !

a) if you are sexually active, then you should get tested too. every woman should get tested as, depending on the strain, can be a precursor to cancer.

b) you should get tested because it can lie dormant in your system for years.

c) if it's been more than a year since her last test, and again, depending on the strain she has, she should get tested again too as it may have disappeared. although that is not to say that she couldn't have re-infected herself by practising un-safe sex with new partners.

d) if she has herpes, don't share a glass with her while she has a sore.

e) don't share pants with her. are you incredibly poor? if not, get your own pair of pants.

f) sharing sheets is not a problem.

*finds out bff has hpv*

*bypasses Google and jumps on an astrology website right away for advice*

No wonder lindaland thinks we are a bunch of clowns.

There’s more than astrology on here 1. 2 I already checked google before here but all I could find was symptoms. ONCE AGAIN, the question was can I avoid this by not sharing shit with her. Maybe I like asking REAL ppl so they can give me THEIR experiences.

I didn’t go on an advice column to get made fun of or feel less intelligent by someone who needs to feel smart by coming at strangers on a website. I get it being a nerd must suck but please get a life and answer questions you actually have answers to. Have a good day & keep that nasty ass negativity off my post thanks🙂

Educating yourself on HPV would be the first step..

That’s what I’m trying to do

"That´s what Iam trying to do"

you thought its a MEDICAL advice forum?

you will get just as many troll advices as your opening question was 🙂

but in case anyone gullible is reading this thread: HPV can be spread through oral, vaginal, or anal sex.

I said bathing suits, obviously not panties but yes I guess it’s the same thing. And I wouldn’t use them without asking if they washed first but I never share underwear with anyone ever. Idc what female you e talked to we’ve all borrowed a bathing suit before. But I def won’t anymore. Nobody answered my question about the sheets or sharing drinks, or forks with her. But I guess this site just isn’t serious enough for these type of questions.

have you tried to ask a DOCTOR?

but he is not allowed to laugh like crazy (like us here), when you tell him your worries about getting HPV by sharing sheets or drinks 🙂 🙂

Edit: I know its a good troll thread, but think about the gullible people who may read it.

I don't know what came up in google results to make you think there's legitimate medical advice to be had here.

It was probably my fingerfucking story lol, but that ain't medical; it's educational.

I'm just tempted to want to educate OP with link shares as some here are miss informing you on std/sti specifically bed sheets.

Share Sheets (or Towels or Clothes)

You aren’t likely to find viral infections present in your towels or sheets, but there could be other infections waiting in the fibers. The single-celled protozoan parasite called Trichomonas vaginalis causes trichomoniasis. This parasite loves damp fabrics and can hang out for almost an hour outside the body waiting for you. Crabs, or pubic lice, are creatures that can also stick around in your bedding or clothing.

she asked about hpv. you can't get hpv by sleeping in the same bed fully clothed.

i'm not quite sure about the hotel towels story. a) the link doesn't work and b) that's a great story from someone who doesn't want to admit they got and sti another way. it's unprovable.

sigh.... fine I will answer this.

there are different strains of the HPV virus (over 150 actually) most have evolved to infect different part of the body, for example, HPV responsible for warts in the hand, don't cause genital warts, not all of them cause problems either, some "warts" are so small you might actually have them and be unable to notice, those are from less risky strains.

there's not enough evidence to suggest HPV transmission from shared object, as in order to get infected significant skin-to-skin contact is required, ofc I wouldn't recommend sharing razor used down there lmao, but some people are,,,,,

Fingers-to-genital contact is a possible way of transmission although I would say unlikely.

anyway, I would suggest you to get tested, and in any case consider the gardasil9 vaccine as it is approved for adults till 45y, and should protect you from the worst type of strains.

one of the link said this:

"According to Dr Leong, STDs like gonorrhea have been found to survive in towels for up to 24 hours, and chlamydia were detected on plastic surfaces for up to 45 minutes. The virus that causes genital herpes is also transmissible via non-sexual contact, surviving for up to two hours outside the body"

it added this pearl too, like if I was born fucking yesterday

"In case you didn't know, there are several types of STDs, according to WebMD"

yeah, I will consider not rushing into a hotel room and use the still wet towels of the last person that was there.

If there were still wet towels it would be in the swimming pool area where this would be a plausible scenario of how cross contamination happens. Kids aren't thinking of stuff like this.

Contaminated bedsheets for those who sleep unclothed in hotels can happen too.

Misshap happens all the time. It's pure foolishness to think it can't happen with bedsheets.

well is kinda uncommon for kids to be carrying those kind of thing, so is good they generally have kids towels separated (and people don't use those for they own privates), although when it comes to kids, they are flu spreaders N°1

now

the problem for both virus and bacteria is how adverse that medium is even for them.

bedsheets are generally too dry (who knows, maybe under A/C?), even for gonorrhea, that hardly made it to a day in a towel, most don't last the first hour, and in bedsheets they can get eaten by acaridae, so mind you.

my first worry in hotels are fungus, man those things are so damn resilient, and they can be as damaging as many std in the wrong place.

is not impossible, but is improvable, and there are other things that can be transmitted, should worry about those instead, sleeping naked? lices can live in there you know, I let you enjoy that image lmao.

I still rather prevention, but is a personal thing.
