Posted by centipedesThis is most likely why your joints couldn't handle the weight and repetitive weight bearing exercises.
I'm 5'6 and 99 lbs which is very much genetic since my whole family is slim at all ages even after kids. I pretty much can't gain weight no matter how much I eat, which sounds great, but I'm seriously lacking in muscle and I hate feeling and looking fragile. I'm female so I don't want to be too vulnerable.
cardio is a no for me. I absolutely cannot afford to lose any more weight.
My goal is strength and fitness. I've tried gym stuff and all the repetition with weights and squats and stuff just hurts my joints. I feel like my knees would pop out their sockets. And this was under the guidance of a trainer, so it's not bad technique. Just not good for my body.
I did ballet for most of my childhood and really loved it and it was a great workout. I might revisit that.

DUDE. She came on here for help on what works for other people so that's what I gave her. What works for me.
When I say she can do her own research I mean on the "protein debate." I have done my research and I know what works and what does not.
Education is great, but aren't results better? Yes. They are....sweetie.

Posted by febyHaha, I was thinking that when I was writing my response.
swimming is great. I was a comp swimmer for years. Only thing is really everything in moderation. I ended up working through rotator cuff tendonitis due to overuse. We used to practice sometimes twice a day.

Posted by rockyroadicecreamThis isn't the exact site, but it's a similar idea.Posted by retrogradexyHousework actually counts as exercise haha. We had this huuuuge list of things that helped us calculate actual calories burned throughout the day. It included things like housecleaning, sex, walking up stairs, working in the yard, etc.
The best workout is cleaning while dancing, especially the bathtub.
There's a website that actually has this information. I came across it awhile back when I was tinkering with some ideas creating a daily "more movement" regimen of sorts. I was even incorporating the Wii haha.click to expand

Posted by febyIt's like that with most competitive athletes though. They develop overuse injuries if they aren't careful and don't do enough preventative for it to become a problem.Posted by rockyroadicecreamyeah defo. Like you said, everything in moderation. I'm giving my kidneys some more consideration btw 😛Posted by febyHaha, I was thinking that when I was writing my response.

"It's great...as long as you don't develop overuse injury to your shoulders..."
But that happens more with competitive since it's done for SO many hours each week. Popping it into a workout routine a couple times a week should be okay, assuming no previous shoulder issues.
It was all year round. I swam for a ymca year round and summer team also in the summer. So winter would be 3 hour practices every night and meets on the weekends. I had my high school swim team on top of it as well. Summer would be long course and summer swim team (more fun lol). It really was a lot.click to expand

Posted by exxtasyxLets diet together and so pushups on skype.
I wish I was a "work out" person but I'm not. I'm a "diet" person which totally sucks. I swear sometimes I wish I could just eat whatever I wanted but I'm always restricting and it's a living nightmare but whatever. I pick staying in shape and buying the clothes I love and having it look great on me over food.
