I went to target practice yesterday🙂
I am a responsible gun owner with a concealed weapons permit...keep my gear in working order (9mm rohrbaugh & .45 sig) and out of reach of small hands and prying eyes.
I live in Florida where home invasion percentages are low because thieves know, everyone is packing heat.
it would also be a good idea to come to understand the "Art of War" - not that you would go out and instigate war, but rather, that you
can better know your enemy, his weaknesses as well as your own, future survivability it's about, not just the now.
Also, be informed. - History, government, military, political science, psychological warfare through school education, news media, entertainment.
Learn to be self-sufficient - know how to work on cars and trucks, improvising in all matters transportation. Consider strategic relocation, yes
it's a BIG learning curve. Learn all that you can to survive in the wild. First aid, weather, disease and drought.
Keep in mind, long term availability and sustainability of munitions. Consider alternative means of defense and protection - Knives, swords, spears, bow and arrow
crossbows and how to keep them maintained and edges razor sharp, all of which I think.
Also, consider organization - I cannot stress the need for organizing a community/nationwide organization that might include the NRA but also
one that holds veterans of the armed forces in high regard emphasizing discipline, courage and principles conducive to a tight ship and well oiled machine.
One that not only considers what has been discussed topics already in this thread but how to coordinate and effectively engage positively, sensibly, LEGALLY,
without being "exclusive" but judicious in determining whom is acceptable or not.
Under NO circumstances advocate the overthrow of the government. BUT rather the corruption and the obscene, unethical and senseless through the electoral
process - understanding that it IS the elected officials who make the laws and decide what is enforced and what is not in both domestic and in foreign policy.
They are the ones to blow the whistle when corruption is found. What the people are TRUSTWORTHY officials willing to be carefully monitored. Thus, it requires
a nationwide movement the likes the world has never known. IMHO, because so much has been lost, already, an extreme shot of wake-up coffee is quite needed.
The intoxication needs to wear off.
But MOST IMPORTANT: People need to learn to use their heads and use good sense. IF they don't know either, they need to be taught.

While I'm not referring to specific posters on here, often times when the second amendment is cited, the person quoting it is unaware of or dishonest about it's history. Truth is, the original version of the second amendment was much longer and very specific. Like every law that goes through Congress, it was debated and had to be compromised(shortened) so that it could PASS and the Constitution could then be passed and ratified by the States. Another example of this was the fact that blacks were deemed 3/5 human. This was done so that slave holding states would ratify the Constitution. But that's another topic lol.
The second amendment has been litigated several times throughout our history. Most recently in 2008 and 2010. Two rulings were issued by the U.S. Supreme Court during those years. While the upheld the right of individuals to keep and bear arms under the Second Amendment, they also stated that the Federal Government has a right under the Constitution to regulate the possession of firearms due to the 14th Amendment...the Equal Protection clause. Therefore, individuals have a right to legally bear firearms, but the government has a right to set the parameters of owning one.
So one can walk around with a gun on their hip all day but reality is there ate plenty of people who don't feel safe with some stranger packing in their local Chipotle and since they have rights as well, don't be upset if the local authorites are called 🙂
