I never managed to watch more than ten minutes of top gun. This movie is so fucking retarded I thought it was an elaborate form of trolling but then I saw it was directed by Tony Scott and it all made sense.

Felt cute, thought I'd watch Moonstruck since I've never seen it and it's kind of a classic.

Had to turn it off like 30 min in. Man, 80's movies have aged! Felt like I was watching something from the 40's. Cher's discolored teeth (coffee?) didn't help much either lol

The Innocents (2021)

A Norwegian movie about children with superpowers… who haven't quite figured out how to use them.

After a slow start, the first hour sets the scene for a potentially compelling premise. Unfortunately, this is let down by the script, as there are too many inconsistencies concerning the limitations of the children’s superpowers.

This is especially true of one of the characters who, during the first half hour, struggles to repeatedly change the downward trajectory of a small, inanimate object. However, 55 minutes in, the same character can suddenly lift heavy objects and, another half an hour later, control people‘s minds! Taking into account the story occurs over the course of a few days, this is just another case of lazy scriptwriting and really brings the movie down.

I haven't seen it.. but maybe it's not an inconsistancy but rather just showing how quickly said powers can evolve?

No idea why, but I thought this might be your thing when watching it. Dawn French and Phil Daniels TV movie from 1997, Sex & Chocolate. Difficult to dislike. It's about her having a fling with an old school friend to escape her seemingly mundane life.

Thank you Alex it looks like my kind of film…will check it out

No that's the really distasteful TV series. Derek is about Derek Jarman I think the way it is put together you would enjoy, it seems quite difficult to find these days despite winning awards.

No that's the really distasteful TV series. Derek is about Derek Jarman I think the way it is put together you would enjoy, it seems quite difficult to find these days despite winning awards.

Fast X (2023)

After the steaming turd that was Fast & Furious 9 comes... yet another steaming turd.

20 minutes in and I simply gave up. Ridiculously OTT action sequences and not much in the way of a plot. It also falls foul of rushing from one action scene to another in quick succession, using the 'downtime' moments in-between as mere lynchpins than properly fleshing them out to provide a more substantial movie.

Fuck the last two instalments. In my mind, Fast & Furious was already on life support and I've finally flicked the switch.

I think the actors just like having fun making these

regardless if it's necessary or make sense to continue past Tokyo Drift lol

oh its been on youtube for free lol Not as much action in it as you would think but they have an infamous shootout scene and when the action does happen, its beautifully laid out. Its a great movie. Got two GOATS in there and they didnt disappoint. Long as hell tho lol give it a look and lmk what ya think

Hotel Artemis (2018)

A really good film that has more originality than most of the dreck released nowadays. Of course, it’s not perfect, but it’s very entertaining with a solid cast and a very good script.

Action-wise, it’s more low-key than bombastic and some may see that as a weakness, but I disagree. Sometimes, less is more, especially when both the story and dialogue already have plenty to offer.

Filmed on a $ 15.5 million budget, I can understand why it didn’t do so well in theatres – not much money was left to spend on marketing it!

In time, I’m sure this will become a cult classic.

Weird low-quality giallo with awful acting. The photography is very nice, just by virtue of being a 70s movie, but the rest is bad. It may only be enjoyed ironically.

He walked by night (1948):

Cool detective movie, centered on a serial killer.

Some very nice B&W cinematography reminiscent of german expressionism. Interesting mix of a quasi psychiatric examination of the killer and meticulous police procedure. Very reminiscent of the dragnet series, which were actually born from the set of this movie.

You can live forever :

The Color Purple Musical. It was a beautiful movie.

Planned to watch it with my Pisces. She turned me against it and against so much more that I don't even know.... lol. The topic was pay for black actors, Oprah, Gayle, Tyler Perry, Einstein flight logs, etc. Snoop against Gayle and Oprah.... She stay boycotting something. I taught her too well, lawd. But, I gotta research all that she was talking about. All she said honestly made me sick, almost physically sick.
