I'm from a small town of less than 5000 people. When I first joined Facebook in 2011, pretty much everyone on Facebook from that zip code added me, and I accepted. I've become less likely to accept those requests, but I still feel guilty if I get a request from someone and don't accept.

Time for a friends cull. Don't see what you have to feel guilty about having to add someone you don't talk to lol. If they want to be offended, let them be. If you want want some person on your friends list who you don't and will never see irl, don't be offended if they creeping on your page. Simple :-)

Cream is correct. Currently, Facebook has most recent adds on your page. Previously it has been randomized but for some reason fb changed and made it stupid.
I have it so only I can see my friends though I believe. I’d have to double check my settings.
There is no way currently to tell who is looking at your page unless someone accidentally clicks like on some old ass post.

I have around 250 friends, most of whom were added 2011-2013 or so. I don't recall the last time I looked at his page, if I have ever looked at it, but I think he was in that original group of adds. I haven't interacted with him in any way. I actually forgot he was in my friends list. The others listed at the top are my mom, my husband, my best friend, my two cousins, and my sister, all of whose posts I've liked in the past few months.

Have I popped up in your friends suggestions yet?
I liked it more when I was younger. Now it’s all kinda meh. I just use it to try and contact good people from the past that mean something to me that I lost contact with. Once I have all their contact info again, I’ll be saying my goodbyes to all but probably dxp. Went through some rough patches over the years so trying to reconnect with the few good people out there that have my best interest at heart. I’m trying to put the phone down more and more lately and just live. God making a FB account again was so cringe but I did get in contact with my little bro which was the biggest goal. Don’t know how long I’ll have it up, especially after being friend requested by elementary school mates and my ex’s drug addicted alchy mother.....

DXP is social media. I think I like it best because I block over 95% of ads. 😁
I like it best because it's at least somewhat anonymous. It creeps me out when I get on Facebook, and I can tell from my friends list that some dude from second grade who never posts has been looking at my page because his face is front and center in the friends list thingy.
Is that real?I thought only the people you recently friended are the ones who show up on the front page friends list thing.
I think so. I haven't added a new friend in ages. It always lists the people I interact with most (my mom and inlaws, my besties, my cousins), but then sometimes randomly, some face of some person I forgot I friended shows up first or second in line. I don't know for sure that's what is going on, so I just ignore it, but it obviously gives me pause since I mentioned it.

Why do you think this particular guy popped up as #2 in my friends list the last time I looked at Facebook?
I have around 250 friends, most of whom were added 2011-2013 or so. I don't recall the last time I looked at his page, if I have ever looked at it, but I think he was in that original group of adds. I haven't interacted with him in any way. I actually forgot he was in my friends list. The others listed at the top are my mom, my husband, my best friend, my two cousins, and my sister, all of whose posts I've liked in the past few months.

Many DXP users "hate" social media, or at least, have many complaints about it. Over exaggerated lives of "perfection" in the pursuit of validation from others they barely know. Facebook, Instagram, Snap.. It's all the same. Likes and shares that feed the ego. Just admit that you actually like it. You wouldn't be on DXP if that weren't true.
