I want to help mothers who are worried about baby formula shortage...

I breast fed my child for 90 days and my milk stopped coming so I went old fashion way and started to boil oatmeal and blend it in a blender and buckwheat and rice with vegetables (added one at the time to make sure she has no allergy to any) and she is 27 now and trust me - those ‘special’ and expensive formulas aren’t better than natural stuff!

So stop being hysterical and put some work into your baby’s diet. They won’t starve to death just because formula shortage.

They will grow up HEALTHIER! 👍❤️

Not every mother has time to continually make their baby food. Especially if they’re a single parent or working mother.

😐

My first reaction was to think what a funny response this comment must have been posted by someone who is not a mother.

Formula is for convenience and adopted parents or mother’s with issues with breastfeeding.

Not everyone has time to make a batch of oatmeal boil down if they didn’t have time to pump or if they’ve got to work three jobs and no maternity leave or partner to help them.

Formula is their saviour.

Start solid feeding at 4 month with purées. Can use soy milk. Cow milk might cause allergies

Then you would understand not having formula could be detrimental if you had a formula fed baby.

Not every single working mother can cope as well as you did.

Do lactating mothers donate their surplus breast milk where you live?

Yes lots of babies died or made a boil down.

But today not everyone has the time or support. That’s why formula has been pushed hard since the 70s. Then I’m the late 80s to 90d breastfeeding became more supported as the best option. Only thing is you have a lot of mothers with little support or too much stress in life to breastfeed.

What I’m saying is it is more of a dynamic issue then feeding a baby an oatmeal recipe.

Newborn needs to feed every two hours. You will also have postpartum issues. When does the mother have time to make all the food etc.

Not everything is as simple for you as it will be for other people.

Maybe the mothers on this thread, rolling their eyes at the other mother’s with formula issues, could start making homemade formula and donating it?!!

It’s so easy to bitch about other mothers when you think everything was so damn easy

Not everyone has support.

I am not a mom but I feel for women who have to just deal with this. It’s not as easy as just make something for the baby. USA is a stressful country to live in and especially if you don’t have support. Emotional, financial, social. It can be detrimental to mother’s and baby’s health.

However, people also have to realize that things are not going back to normal. There will be real food shortages and not just baby food shortages.

I would advice anyone to educate themselves on self-sufficiency, in every aspect of life.

It is my dream to live self sufficient, ironically you need a ton of money to do it. So, it's not possible for everybody.

I agree 100%

I inherited a small house, nothing special. But it has a ton of land and in a somewhat friendly climate. This at least gives me a good start. But I still needed money to even get to this point and going forward. It’s is not easy by any means. Some days I just sat down and cried in frustration.

In fact, I just rented an apartment in downtown because I could not adapt to a house after so many years of downtown living in a big city. Oh, the irony! But to be fair, I don’t have a car at the moment and my house is up on the big hill. This way I will split the time between the two, until I figure it out again.

Maybe start saving if you can at all, and do small steps towards achieving self-sufficiency. Do you have an idea what kind of life would you like to lead? Country life? Or do you mean self sufficiency in a big city?

Self sufficiency in a big city is pretty much impossible, very few gardens, no wood burning stoves in houses, impossible to source food inner city.

I think it's going to be a slow process. For some reason everything for me takes so long and is usually fraught with unnecessary challenges beyond my control. It's probably going to be a retirement project looking at the time frames.

I have a wood burning stove, a garden and I am thinking of maybe adding few animals too (besides just my cats) 😆

But I don’t think all this guarantees anything, to be fair. Any scenario can happen that can wipe all that out.

You can start now so that you are ready by your retirement. You might as well start some day and somehow. That’s one of the ideal retirements anyway. The other is being a playboy and living in Las Vegas casino mansion, lol!

And let me just warn all you millennial and or perhaps Gen Y parents about the formula I was fed (see my previous post). It will fatten your baby up. That's just a small tip and if you take it upon yourself and go by my um well so call advice don't say I didn't warn you. I kinda felt like my parents neglected us because we all and most especially me grew up malnourished, scrawny as all hell but were all fat as babies. Amazing how I was born premature and just days later became a fat baby because of the formula I was being fed. So yeah if ya want then do it the old school way. Today's baby formula weren't around in my days as a baby.

I believe I was fed semolina type of grits. Also, ground tea-cookies (biscuit) with milk. Mind you, milk was probably a bit better quality than today. Soup and vegetables, chicken liver patte later.

There are ways to feed your baby. Generations of babies survived world wars and other tragedies. Your baby will survive!

Errp wrong! Do you even know the number 1 cause for diabetes? Cus I know. Having had it since 2015. If you don't have it and never experience symptoms from it then I wouldn't suggest you to know what causes it. And don't say overweight or obesity. That's not the cause of diabetes as a lot of non diabetics quick to put blame on weight.

“What causes type 1 diabetes? Type 1 diabetes occurs when your immune system, the body's system for fighting infection, attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas. Scientists think type 1 diabetes is caused by genes and environmental factors, such as viruses, that might trigger the disease”

Yes insulin resistant. Type 1s is the type one would have as a child. Most diabetics was born with type 1. Other number 1 causes factor in it is a lack of exercise which in my case I let myself go after I approached my 40s. That's what happens when you carry that fuck it attitude like me, and a poor improper diet.

I remember all too well being fed this as a post baby just teething Image Not Found

I used to love it then. Today, I can't see me eating that yucky shit. I suppose it's still good to feed babies that.

Babies who aren’t fed formula have less chances to have diabetes. But hey! Convenience BEFORE health benefits! For dumbasses who didn’t have rights to HAVE children to begin with…

Oh yeahhh type 2 definitely is. If I had even cared enough to seek medical attention right away as soon as I started feeling symptoms from it I wouldn't of had it to this day. But nooooo I ignored the warning signs thinking it's all good.

Nah babies born from parents that has the same element (such as mines) will turn out to have very cute babies. I get my shyness from my mom (Virgo who's known to be shy) and my strict policies that my household has to abide by I inherent from my dad (Capricorn being a strict and serious sign). The loverboy I wanna say, that one got inherited by my leo granddaddy.

Other number 1 causes factor in it is a lack of exercise which in my case I let myself go after I approached my 40s. That's what happens when you carry that fuck it attitude like me, and a poor improper diet.

I read type one isn’t preventable but as you explained type 2 is ....

Oh yeahhh type 2 definitely is. If I had even cared enough to seek medical attention right away as soon as I started feeling symptoms from it I wouldn't of had it to this day. But nooooo I ignored the warning signs thinking it's all good.

I’m sorry to hear that JJ 😕

Nah don't feel sorry. I'm the one should feel sorry but I don't. I blame myself.

Never too late to change your ways!

I did 😃

Yeah I know it's not too late. I'm doing something about it now. I'm taking something to speed up my metabolism and something to get me motivated and out the house. So far it's working a little bit. I notice my thinking of food has decreased a little. It's gonna take lots of time and patient for it to fully settle in.

My POV in finding your comment weird is that yes know what kind of fresh hell motherhood is, the amount of sacrificing through depravation that is required in this day and age. I know exactly what you can endure when it comes to insecurities and fear providing milk for your child.

So my first reaction to this thread would never be what you said, and it’s not that what you’re saying is wrong. Its just funny.

It’s like being stuck in a hole, and someone offering you advice on how to make a tool to get out. And then a 3rd person comes a long and says, you shouldn’t have to make your own tool, someone else should give you a tool. (But then there are no tools.)

Don’t be’

Maybe that’s why he came out to be so handsome and desirable to all women who desire him…beauty trough suffering where beauty is a reward 🏆

My grandma was a ho…🤷‍♀️

Was she a leo? And an attention seeking one who get all the men by trying very hard to put on massive amounts of facade? A scorpio perhaps? Who's thirsty for sex?

I have no idea. She said I am her ‘former granddaughter’ after my fathers (her son) death when I was 12. No sorties please. I hated her guts! And I had a gift on not giving a damn, shot nor fuck! Id never been sensitive to these things.

Not even to my fathers death…yeah…go figure right? 🤔

You dont need a ton of money, I know a secret
