No. I understand it would just be dating, but sometimes when you date an individual can end up really liking the person & want to be in a serious relationship. I prefer a man to be BORN a man, not become one. This person will still be a woman to me with the same mindset as a woman, with strengh & capabilities as a WOMAN. A transgendered man cannot organically reproduce, ejaculate, or fulfill my needs such as a man, unless there are studies that I don't know of, I stand corrected. Even if it's possible, I'd just prefer a man. 😉

I get what you're saying but the reason why a transman transitions is because their mind is telling them they should have been born a man. They think and feel the same way a man does because they are a man. Are you talking strength as in lifting heavy things? Testosterone helps with that. But I understand that not being able to have biological children would be a problem for some.

Yes. One of the best relationships I've ever had was with a MtF. Of course he was still a male when we met, but I'm a pansexual anyways so it wouldn't have mattered either way.

What a great question! I honestly can't answer that. It would depend how I felt about the person when I found out, how honest and secure they are, and how well we click. I would like to think yes, but I would have to experience that one.

I have seen photos of people in my area that are completely transitioned. Just by photos, I wouldn't have even had a clue. Some of the f to m I have met, I thought, still had some very feminine ways...ex. speech or body language.

This may be the case, I don't know. But, I do know, with scientific backing, that a child's brain is undeveloped until around 18. Until that development is over, rational, logical thinking flies before emotion and whimsy.

This *IS* what we know, empirically, at this time. So, imo, the kid must wait until he/she is older. The parents should have stayed neutral while reassuring their love of the child.

Well the theory is that a person with gender disorder may have had a hormonal imbalance while in the fetal stage of development caused by a chromosomal abnormality. That's why transgendered people will feel that they are the opposite gender in the wrong body during childhood and continue to be this way into adulthood.
So in essence wether their parents support the child's identification with the opposite sex or not has no bearing on the ultimate outcome of the individual developing according to his or her genetic makeup which is in place before the age of 18 as it occurs during pregnancy.

As a parent it will be unlikely to stay neutral as the child will be exhibiting symptoms that will have to be

I've read more than once about parents choosing to support a transgendered child did so due to the suicide aspect.
Also at the time of that video about Jazz she was not on hormone blockers - I'm not sure if that has changed at this point.

@Anyone interested on a little more backstory concerning the vid: This particular girl was insistent on dressing as a female by the age of 6 as well as displaying a preference for living as a female prior. She has 3 other siblings who identify mentally with their physical gender. Therefore (In addition to the above info on genetic hardwiring in transgendered people) I don't suspect an issue with the upbringing of the child by the parents to be the cause of Jazz's gender identity. I personally think she is fortunate to have parents who were willing to look further into her situation and take her to be medically examined as well as research the topic and consult with transgendered adults to learn about their own childhood experiences before forming an opinion on the matter.

It's a very common place for teens to go through phases believing they are gay, and actually having gay relationships .... only to realize they are straight, and never have a gay relationship again.

There is no way the parents could know at a young age if their child is in the wrong body.

I had a nephew who loved to pretend to be female when he was young .. he would prance around, carry his mother purse, put on lipstick. The whole family thought he would end up as a girl. He's not, he's an adult now and all male ..

Now, if his mother had encouraged this, and gave him hormone drugs, and treated him as female while pumping estrogen inside of him, he could have very well "thought" he was suppose to be a girl ....

I think when they said the father went through this with his other daughter they meant that she was becoming interested in dating.
There's a documentary on youtube about Jazz that goes into further details about why the parents allowed her to live as a female. They said they did try to raise her as a male but
she gravitated more towards being a female and showed more interest in her sisters preferences than her brothers.

Of course I wasn't there and anything is possible as far as the mother's actions are concerned, but I personally didn't get the sense that female behaviour was being pushed on the child. It seemed that she just wanted to do things typical of girls and her parents initially objected and then eventually gave in. Also they did take her to get a professional opinion and she was diagnosed with gender identity disorder. However, I do understand that even a medical opinion is not concrete since causes of transgender behaviour are still being studied with no conclusive findings humans (but there have been with animals)
