This has little to do with relatioships, but I couldn't see where else to post it. Leo section might do, but this is more a general issue. Anyway, summer is here in a few months and I was thinking about the eternal hair or no hair issue. Obviousely I get the impression that a hairy chest is NOT on the in-list this summer, in fact, hasn't been since David Hasselhoff went off the screen.

But I don't shave my chest. I trim it, sure, but still, I wouldn't feel like mylself if I shaved it off. So what's your opinion on the subject? Is chest hair, no matter how neatly trimmed, yeah or yikes? Keep in mind that I've been working out for most part of my life, so being quite muscular I ain't really the same sight as a pale and hairy little fatty in surfing shorts. And keep in mind that I only mean upper chest hair and not whole-upper-body-and-back-hair.

I know some women like to say "women shave their legs, so men should shave their chest", but that philosophy makes zero sense to me since there are many women who actually like men with hair on their chest, and also, hair on men has never been a taboo in our society. Women are shavers, men are trimmers. Not my choice, but that's the way it is, so let's keep the politics out of it. This is purely a question of aesthetics.

trimmed is grosser because it grows back THICKER AND COARSER!
just how much chest hair have you?

I wouldn't define myself as TOO hairy (ever been to Turkey?), but I'm no little brat desperately trying to grow a hair or two either. I have a fair amount of hair, yes, along the lines of The Hoff, only much more trimmed, and I shave my belly. Speaking of growing back thicker and coarser, I don't find that to be true with trimming. It only happens if you actually shave down completely.

Suddenly I feel this urge to watch "Knight Rider".

I dont like hairy men for 3 reasons:

a) They smell worse when they sweat in comparison with less hairy men (even if they have 3 showers per day)
b) a shaved chess makes a man look younger.
c) If he has a nice body with the hair he is hiding the muscles.. and he is less sexy than what he would without the hair.

You make some fair points there, altough this is the first time I hear that men with chest hair smell more. Even if they have 3 showers per day? You must have one sensitive nose, girl!

b) no objections, so all you ladies out there, shave your chests and you'll look five years younger

c) I think chest hair on a muscular man makes him look bigger and more robust. I mean seriousely, you don't want to mess with Burt Reynolds (could be those eyebrows) while David Beckham looks like you could snap him in half.

Your eyes are as good as anys, if you thing it looks gross when you look in a mirror then most will see the same!

Really hairy like all over the arms etc needs looking after, grooming as you would other parts of your bode. Nothing worse than looking at an overgrown forrest whether it be male or female and whatever part of the body...

Personally I think that you should wax for a better feel (that's my preferance) BUT I have had a guy that shaved and while i didnt like that prickly feel in the beginning he was sooo yummy it didnt bother me at all!🙂

AND RIGHT NOW if you have a HOT bod even if it is hairy I'd be drooling😉 lol

enfant_terrible: i can't wait for the pics. 😉 And the only thing i can say, i will tell my personal opinion honestly. But who really matters is the woman next to you! 🙂

Okay now I'm getting shy 😛 Yeah honestly I don't care what others think, so you can be honest. And I never intentionally hide my chest when a woman is getting to know me. If I felt I had to hide it before I knew how she felt about chest-hair, I would shave it off to begin with.

Shaved chest - yuck!

Keep it as you have! Unless it's really a jungle and you need to buy bigger shirts...
