I am a foreign to US but for 25 years proud citizen of USA and wouldn’t have it another way if I had to!

I don’t think it’s even that anymore. Women everywhere becoming less motherly and more ‘he’ll make his own breakfast’ type.
So kids are seeing it and vicious circle started.

Do you think it’s EASY after we did everything ourselves - woman comes in and makes me coffee and walking the dog and cooking a full meal?
I was laughing saying that they have to live in this ‘horror’ for a few days until I am gone...
He still never asks me for the refill of his coffee. So I have to watch! 😂
HOWEVER my exes new wife from Wasyern Europe doesn’t do SHIT! And he is suffering.
What I am saying is that there is no more of where women from. It’s just what they are feeling.
My aunt had never been very cooked.
I was 12 and she was 28 when I thought her how to deal with while chicken...
My point is...people need to show care to their partners. And I don’t want to hear ‘I did and he still am asshole’...

I love shopping, cooking, preparing the table, serving food and spoiling someone! What I don't love, is to be taken advantage of. To give, and never to receive the same in return. And I'm not satisfied with flashes in the pan either...from a man who "isn't lazy", so he offers to do something once in a blue moon.
There is a simple solution: taking turns. I'd buy the food, cook, wash and clean for exactly one week. He'd be doing the same for the next week. I don't mind if he's feeding me cheese on toast, as long as he makes an effort. I can tolerate some degree of disorder as well.
I think this is the best way if you want to spoil and be spoilt. To appreciate and be appreciated.

i understand your points, though. and personally, i don´t mind structures, hierarchies or roles - as they are an important foundation in a relationship. i see difficulties arise if it´s very one-sided; or taken advantage of. everything should be in balance. and the roles clearly defined. and it´s what both partners want.
i was raised eastern european style .....and as much as there is to praise about it, there is just as much to criticize.
imo political correctness and social media and all those other influences has brought on a lot of the confusion that is going on nowdays in relationships. also kids growing up in a single parent household with no immediate family around them.
