Call their bluff and walk your ass out the door. Boy byeeee
I will also add low self esteem and desperation.
Just had a crazy flashback
This always worked on me
🤣🤣🤣
Gosh I used to be a sucka
What did you do?
I didn’t do anything. I have (or maybe had) a that friend makes me feel uncomfortable so I said it’s best to go our separate ways and they came back saying they were gonna do something bad.
Why do people do this? And how do you diffuse the situation when they pull it on you?
Why do they do this? The reasons make no difference. Some neuroses present this way and the person at the receiving end of it engages with the person dishing it out at their own peril. Some folks do it deliberately, while others can’t help themselves. The response should probably be the same: polite and compassionate behaviour (that one would give to anyone else) without any bonding. If at all possible these people are to be avoided.

I told the person not to do anything bad and that I don’t think our friendship is appropriate at this time. Is that a good response?
Emotional blackmailing is manipulative.
They aren't really going to do anything to themselves. They just want to guilt you into having their way.
I took a gamble and stopped speaking with them.
The next day they were perfectly alive.
Why you gotta out me like that Tiz? GAWD, I TOLD YOU THAT WE WERE FWENDS 4 LYFE. YOU CAN'T GIT RID OF MEH!
I've encountered numerous people who have tried to pull this, they're all still perfectly alive today and it's been years.
Teach yourself it's one of the biggest red flag a person can give.
You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free
It's NOTHING SHORT of manipulation. A cowards way of trying to avoid rejection.
