Texting ... Lol
Texting can be the demise of a relationship- too much miscommunication can happen.
Don't get me wrong i can text all day.. been told this before. 😄 . drives others crazy at times. But never about serious stuff.

LOL He may look at the phone and go WTF , or he may laugh his ass off. Is it trival stuff y'all are texting about? If so then maybe not so much like that lol If it's serious stuff then yes, i would suggest a phone call.
But more along the lines of " hey i dont want any misunderstandings, can we chat via phone instead of text? "

I think texting is fine as long as it's an actual conversation. I can text with someone for weeks, even months before realizing that we haven't had a phone convo in a long time. I tend to initiate phone calls though, because it's easier to dial someone up from my phone book than it is to text them. However, if they return the contact via text, then it's fine with me. Texting gets sketchy when I notice certain patterns like a guy alwasys has his phone out when we're together, but he can't answer my text messages when we're not together. HUGE red flag. Or the opposite in that I never see a guy on his phone, but when we're not together he's texting me non stop or only phone calls during the day, but restricted to texting at night. Texting makes it so much easier for people to diversify their romantic interests, but when you think about it, cheating was invented and people found ways to cheat without getting caught way before text messaging was invented. I don't take things personal as a rule, so I tend not to add emotional inflection to text messages. I barely add emotive inflection when I'm talking to people face to face. I laugh when people openly display irritation. Lol...I take their irritation into consideration, but I don't take it personal.
I'm usually the last person to realize that someone actually doesn't like me. I'm like, "oh snap...I didn't realize it.", but the crazy part is that the same people who don't like me end up changing their minds ANYWAYS...so it's like...eff it. People change their minds and opinions allllll of the time. So, I'm less stuck on mode of communication than I am consistency or lack of consistency.

Lol ha ha ha Its only on rare occasions or when I'm trying to make a point that I purposely allow time to lapse before texting a person back. Most of the time, I don't really want or need for them to notice...I'm doing it because I'M in a particular mood. I get over stuff quick, so it's actually better if they don't notice or point out that I didn't respond right away.
I agree that it can be maddening. I have no idea about the rules. If I like you, I will respond right away.
Yes, I'm that person who withholds communication, my time, etc to make a point and then I'm like, "what in the heck am I doing—" And I resume normal behavior. I'm kind of weird like that. Lol

I just text whenever I feel like it. I mean, within the first day you would find out the other's texting style - whether they respond quickly or take their time. If I want to text a person, I do. If they don't respond for a day or two and I'm interested in talking to them - still gunna send a text. At that point I might just flat out ask why they're taking a while to respond - if that's just their style, if they're busy, if they're not interested, or if they're playing by some silly dating rule. Then in the future, I would have a better idea of what to expect and the possible reasonings behind it.
I've found that saying whatever is on my mind is really helpful on any platform. I don't 'wonder', I find out.

I am not a texter, I would rather meet the person or just call. I'm notorious for never texting back. This Libra guy I went out with is a serial texter. I cannot with him.

I always have my phone with me so technically texting is the best way to reach me, I'll use it to discuss meet ups or just anything important, aside from that if it's to converse, it has to have some kind of purpose and you best be prepared for paragraphs because I don't do small talk. I hate it. I hate it so much that I had it removed from my phone. It has destroyed the art of picking up the phone to hear someone's voice. By me removing it, I've enjoyed talking to everyone again who is important to me.
