When do you first say those three little words?

In a relationship how long is it before you tell your partner than you love them, and what prompts you to do so? Also, is it usually the man who says it first or the woman, or isn't there a noticeable trend in that respect? Finally, does a person's sign make them more or less likely to be the one to say it first?

Yeah, I've never said it first either. But, I've only said it to three males in my life (other than family members) so I'm a bit stingy when it comes to giving my heart away. I have been lucky that with each of those three (even though they said it first) we were on the same page and I was able to reciprocate those feelings and was comfortable saying the words in return. Honestly, in each of them they came fairly quickly, but it felt right. I believe that those three words are sacred and not to be used lightly otherwise they lose their meaning. As for synastry playing a role in it... I don't know. I guess some signs might be a bit more inclined to say them more quickly due to the placements in more emotional sectors. But, ultimately I think it has more to do with personal experience and upbringing. IDK... food for thought!

Agreed! I have never said it first and I have only said it to two men before. But it is defintiely not something that I planned. I also agree with Jason. It was something that I felt for a little bit but maybe held it in for a bit to marinate on the idea. To make sure it was love that I was feeling. Once the feeling pretty much knocked me off my feet, I said it. By that time, the guy had already spilled the beans. i am really guarded when it comes to the "L" word for some reason.

^How ironic..at one point Mrs Stingyness had the nerve to question my Leo placements and the fact they rule my love and sex life..^

Ignorance is bliss..

Funny I dont remember questioning any of your "placements"

Being stingy with my heart and who I share it with doesnt make me ignorant... just blissful! πŸ˜‰

there's a timeline?

i say it all the time whenever i get the feeling. i don't remember who said it first in my first relationship because it was so many years ago but my last boyfriend said it before i did. the ball was in his court cuz i already knew he didn't want a gf at the time. he just yelled it out to me one day when he was ill with the flu and i was tending to him.

in my current relationship my boyfriend said it first and we had been together for 6 months. i didn't say it back until a month after he did. i still get kinda embarrassed when we say it in front of other people

with my ex aries i said it first.....kinda. i squeezed his hand "1 4 3". like, i squeezed his hand one time, then 4 times, then 3 times. i remember we were laying down and i was too embarrassed to look at him after i did it but then he did it right back and then i said "do you realize what you've just done?" and he said "yes." heh that story is cheesy and it's making me blush just telling it πŸ™‚

Cheesy or not, my Libra and I did something similar... three squeezes though, that's it. And then we both looked at each other and asked (in stereo), "Do you know what that means?" LOL As if each of us had invented it, and didn't expect the other to have a clue! But it was after the verbal I love you's, just a cutesy little lark while watching TV together one night, and holding hands. Something I did just to see what he'd do... and he threw it right back at me, neat as you please!
