Creative Ways to Resign Professionally and Memorable

When resigning, consider respectful and memorable methods like a farewell gathering, personalized notes, or a heartfelt conversation. Creative ideas such as a farewell party or a small gesture can leave a positive impression, but ensure it aligns with workplace culture and professionalism.

im going to be quitting my job soon, next few months and ive been doing some thinking of how, when the time comes, i will hand in my resignation.

one guy hired a marching band. i like that idea.

maybe getting a singing telegram?
throw a party in the conference room?
hire a gospel choir?
get a billboard?
hand out flyers?

anybody have any other suggestions?

Make sure you've got another job lined up before resigning...if you need the money.

Lasting impression on the boss...

Tell him that he was on your "fuck" list, but he screwed up...

Really, DMV, I was inquiring to come up with creative ideas. Myself, I work in research, so writing a resignation letter citing industry stats would be job specific... (and, stats can be funny too!)

Given my own personal financial situation and the sad financial situation of the company (profits are down by X% ), I have come to the logical conclusion that my expertise in [market] will be better served in a more financially profitable market/company.

Too serious? Liven it up a bit...

The market is bust, therefore I must
move my self to a better crust
of society, society

I gave you my all, yet the company's about to fall
The money I need, is for feed
You lost me though, with your him and hoe
Keep the dollar, I ain't gonna holla
within society, society

I gotta new job, and it ain't as your slob
Not bustin' my ass for penance,
Just making my way to pay the rentess
I'm movin' on up and that's a plus
in society, society

Ok, my lyrics suck... *shrugs*

You never said the answer. Your boss is a *drumroll* SCORP?

Heehee. Sit down, say you want to talk. Do a Sharon Stone legcross , and while he's a half mast, hand him your resignation and blow a kiss as you strut on outta there.

I'm in executive management and have had a couple of hundred team members over the years. I've also worked with many many others at upper and peer levels. Believe me, always hold your cards close to you vest. If you have any interest at all in making it in the business world you have to "play the game". No, it's not selling out, it's working it the way it has to be worked based on reality. I'm not the same person at work that I am outside of work.

I've left a company once because my manager was impossible but I always kept it professional even when resigning. Never burn any bridges and have the pride to not stoop to anyone elses level of dealing with the day to day which really isn't all that important in the long run. Just play the game, be what they are looking for and you'll go further which gives you better changes at cash money if you play it right.

P.S. By doing those things you suggest only makes you look immature and honestly the manager would be happy to know someone that is that emotional over resigning needed to go and would thank you for not having to do the dirty work or firing you 🙂
