You left your current relationship to prove your loyalty to this Scorp bloke you've known for ten years, loosely as friends by your inverted commas, who you've had a few flings with (assumed fucked) already.

How does this action 'prove' loyalty?

Loyalty to who/what?

Certainly not to yourself or your ex partner.

If you didn't want to be with your now ex partner then why not just break up rather than breaking up under some guise of loyalty to a potential new bloke or fuck buddy.

If you're meeting the Scorp then I first suggest you consider what you are looking for and what you're in a position to offer.

Once you're clear with the above then stick to it. It will make things far easier for you. No worrying about bullshit, meaningless crap like 'should I bring alcohol?'

If it's you going to his place or him coming to yours then assume you'll fuck and be prepared. Condoms and reduced expectations of anything more than a continued FWB.

If it's a social party then take a bottle to be polite. Leave the condoms at home, keep your legs closed, and go home with your self respect in tact.

If the Scorp wants you then allow him to pursue you... even if it is just a fuck at least make him work for it. People often don't value freebies.
