I'm guilty of that once. Was dating a gal back in the eightys, she told me she and her ex still lived together for financial reasons... but I'd never gotten him on the phone before. One day, I called her to see if she wanted to go out that weekend, and this guy answers saying she's not home... By this time I had forgotten all about her living with her Ex and I figured she had another boyfriend and simply never called her again or returned her calls... then several months later it dawns on me what had actually happened and I was so embarassed... sheesh. It was too late by then to patch things up tho.
