In this dudes case, I don’t think he does. But I know that’s like the main love language for virgos “acts of service.” He’s easily abused and manipulated. He trusts me to put a stop to it if it happens in work. For example, we had a super slow, angry tech that was recently fired. Recently, our manager has been mocking my dude like “hey come on *slow dudes name* you can go faster than that.” He does it to motivate him. Which it kinda does, but he does not need that type of motivation. When I hear that I just say “HA if you think *my dude* is anything like *that dude* you probably should have started a week of observance before you became our manager.” That might sound disrespectful but he’s my manager in that department, I’m my own manager in my main department, and I have two other managers in two other departments so 🤷🏼♀️ Dude has no right coming in all headstrong trying to belittle my boys when he doesn’t know what they’re capable of. That’s exactly what his dad and gf do. His dad calls when he’s at my house “hey Wtf are you what’s for dinner?” And I’m pretty sure his gf uses how much his son loves her too. He’s always said “*my son* always takes a breakup harder than I do”

Just to add to that perfect effing song is “Call Me When You’re Sober” by Evanesence. He’s graduated to crystal meth. He spent two days at my place a few weeks ago because he was kicked out. He was coming down. I fed him, bought him some shirts, socks, and undies so he wouldn’t smell like a foot in work. Then he spent his day off at home and tried to kill himself (a common thing when coming down from meth I guess 🤷🏼♀️) the next day he took off. I left work because I was crazy, frantic he’d try to kill himself again. He messaged me that I don’t actually care about him, I only care about being with him. I don’t even know him and we’re not really friends. That happened about 4 days after he told me his aunt raped him and took his virginity when he was 15 years old and I’m the only person in the world he’s ever told. We made up a week later. Now he’s on vaca been gone for the week expected back Tuesday. I’m tired, man. His gf beat him up last week because he got too friendly with his baby mom. I made a promise to myself this is it. I got myself into this shit and I’m not leaving until I know he’s gonna live a happy, positive, healthy life. He only talks to me now when he’s on something. If he texted me right now I’d be like “what are you on?” I’m tired. I’m the type of friend who’ll ask a gf to come get her nails done with me. If she says “can’t I’m broke” I’ll say “I didn’t ask if you were broke, I asked if you wanted to get your nails done” 🤷🏼♀️ That’s just who I am. He just doesn’t believe it. Thank you so much for this. The other day I was reading all into abusive relationships on his behalf and that’s where I learned the “trauma bonding” thing. I actually realized hey, he’s his gfs victim, and I’m his victim. It’s obvi not as intense between him and me because no physical abuse or anything but no this dude ain’t it. And that’s totally me. I want to be needed. Idk how to be wanted, that’s just never happened for me. It’s funny now too just a certain convo I just had with my parents like ohhh that’s why lmao it’s just something I gotta teach myself
