I haven't in a written in a while but I would write poetry, short stories, and random thoughts, also kept a journal. I mostly wrote for myself to have someone to talk to, to pass time, to act out my stories with my brother and sister as kids. Lol Do you write?

Yes. It helps me think. Journaling, and I was writing a book and I did have a blog. I realized recently I missed it. So started a new blog the other day. The blog is mostly for myself. It’s just something about it being out in the world lol. First one started while I was working through things in life. My dad died 6 months after I got divorced. Traumatic time. This one is probably more about the journey & what I’ve discovered I guess, but it could change… also I picked up the book today and started working on it. I would love to publish it, but who knows if that will ever happen. It was a learning to write process & dealing with what was going on in my life at the time. Process started 3 years before I got divorced & it’s still not done! Lol I kinda gave up on it 3 years ago when I started a new job. But now it feels important again. 🤷‍♀️

I'm sorry for your loss. You're writing a book? So exciting! What genre? I'm a psychological thriller buff myself I also enjoy works of fiction that are fanciful in nature. You're blogging too? We're you afraid to get started and to put yourself out there? I wanted to give it a try but I got so nervous about exposing my inner thoughts online. Are others able to see and read your blog? Have they commented on your writing? I feel like I'm m giving you the third degree lol sorry, I've been so curious about this for a while now. Yes! finish your book, I'd love to read it.

It’s a journey story.. and romances in there too of course. Fiction, I wrote the basic story before I started off on my own journey lol

Yes others can see it. I got a couple likes that’s it. It’s not really about that. In the other blog a few likes, and also I was in a writing critique group at the time, and they would make comments there. I got used to sharing my stuff when I did that group & a class I took. But sharing your stuff is scary. It’s good to do it!!

Sounds good

Today I joined a site called vocal media . I can't vouch for it as a website as I've only just joined but you can write articles or short stories on there and you get paid a little ( $ 6 per 1000 reads) plus readers can give you monetary tips if they really like what you wrote

I just want people to read what I write. I couldn't write a whole novel that sounds so difficult

There's lots of books on inkitt and wattpad if you do finish your work. Can put it on there. Or would you contact publishers directly? I guess that might be better

Oh good to know. I used to write on a site like that years ago. Oh my idea was a publisher long ago but I may end up just putting it out there someday. It’s been a huge process and probably a lot of writing therapy lol

I write for other people. I can't write for myself. I'd like to make money from it somehow

What I have found is I feel a story is going to come out and then out it pops, like an egg! I can't write on demand, I end up going blank or giving up after one paragraph

I used to have dreams at making money at it. But then I took a job that was challenging & I stopped writing. But I really do love it. I’ve heard a lot, we write what we know. Lol that’s a little different than nonfiction articles about stuff though.

@puzzlepieces if you want to share a chapter or blogpost or anything then I'll happily read and give feedback. Or anyone else

Some people like to keep it private, I understand

I don’t mind sharing. I’m not really looking for feedback at the current time. I was working with an editor/writing coach with the book for awhile. Taught me a lot! But if you’d like to read the new blog I’m fine with that. There are only two posts so far.

It’s https://stepbystep755954930.Wordpress.com

I have a free account. You can do that for a year. Since it’s mostly for me, I suppose it’s just getting my thoughts out there.

Ok cool. I did read them both. I thought "human design" when you said about we are conditioned to live and achieve a certain way even though it's not natural for a lot of us. You're a projector? I think you said you were, same as me

Yes I am a projector. I had a reading and funny enough she said my karma in life is to be a storyteller 😂😂 she didn’t know I write.

@mystarsshine Since you love books, I wondered if you write also? because I saw this writing competition and thought of your Harry Potter knitting kit 😅 https://vocal.media/challenges/threading-the-needle

Haha it was a crochet kit...i saw it in Aldi. Didnt buy it as i dont knit or crochet but the image of it made me 😂

Yes, i wrote lots of poetry after our son was born and even had one published. Ive also journaled and presently keep a dream journal. I mainly write for myself, as with singing and dancing, its always proved to be cathartic

Thanks for the link!

That's beautiful that you're going back to writing, PuzzlePieces. To me, it's like going back home, within yourself but expressing yourself outward as well. I write because it's how I express my art, which are my thoughts, into a blog or poetry. I am writing stories as well, though they will take a long time to finish (I am queen of procrastination). I love bouncing ideas, if you're ever curious to get any feedback! Just keep in mind, not only am I a procrastinator but lazy and forgetful as well. ^^;
