It could possibly be that indeed, as i understand it, that's a very possessive placement and it's difficult to reconcile calling someone your own (probably a prerequisite for the "i love you" words for possessive venuses) if that someone is stripping for randoms.
Him being there for you as you've said is him giving you time to sort it out, so he apparently does see potential in you but doesn't want to go "too deep" because of your proffession and the things you're exposed to while doing it.

He’s a Gemini, Aries moon, Taurus Venus. So our relationship has been a growing experience for sure, it’s both of our first serious relationship. He’s a provider he’s got me no matter what & we’ve basically been thru hell & back together.
