Soul at conception or birth?
Does the Soul Enter at Conception or Birth in Astrology
In astrology, the birth chart is created based on the time and place of birth, which determines personality traits. Most believe the soul enters the body at conception does not affect the birth chart, as the chart reflects the moment of birth rather than conception.
These are kind of my thoughts, too, CrimsonGirl... maybe, all this time, the charts have been off by 9 months, and the Aquarius description really DOES apply to Scorpios more.
And maybe the reason there are exceptions are because the mother moved to a drastically different area after conception.
Like you said, it's an interesting thing to think about :-)

Well, think about it scientifically.
Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. If a soul is just energy, then it comes from somewhere, right? Perhaps your sperm has a portion of your soul, and the egg has a portion of her soul, so when they come together (no pun intended) it creates a new, hybrid soul.
I don't really believe in astrology, but both interpretations are possible.
You can imagine that the birth chart's interpretation is shifted and that it really takes into consideration the time of conception.
It's like saying that you are shifting numbers one unit up, but the arythmetics remain the same.
So what astrologers believe is the description of (for example) "venus in scorpio" is actually the description of "venus 9 months before entering scorpio".
although I'm not 100% sure it will completely work from a celestial movement point of view, but well, I don't want to spend more time thinking about this shit anyway
As a mother, I believe in souls in the womb. At conception, I don't know. I know that I new my children, had a strong sense of who they were, while they were in my womb. All senses accurate upon delivery.
In my womb, I could sense my Taurus was lazy, sweet, content, and gentle. I knew when he was sleeping and awake. Taurus was huge. I remember dropping a canned good in the grocery store and he jumped in my stomach.
A question he asked me, I still ponder from time to time, is would he still be the same person if he had a different dad.
When it comes to the Ascendant sign and birth, I believe the time, sign, is predestined... therefore the personality will develop accordingly.
Does a mere fertilized egg have a soul, or wouldn't the soul come in once the brain starts developing in an embryo?

As time progressed, I knew more and more of my childs personality.
The brain development begins almost at conception.

I like that.
But, you know what. I felt my children's personalities overtaking my own at times. My Pisces was mean. While pregnant, I threatened to push a man into oncoming traffic.
I had a boss that started getting on my nerves when I was pregnant with her. He was a Sag. I brought her to work to show the staff. Sag caught us on the elevator. My 3 month old Pisces took one look at him and cut her eyes. I mean she also turned her head all the way to the side slowly while cutting her eyes and let her head rest in that position for full effect. The security guard said, "Sag! what did you do to Venus? Cause that baby sure cut her eyes at you!" I was so embarrassed.

I understand the emotion underlying your posts.
IF the soul is eternal - then astrological aspects and impacts affect the physical body only and thus it's conception is the determining factor. It merely defines a part of our experience while incarnated on the planet - since the whole system is Earth-centric.
IF not then refer to ages such as the Kali Yuga or other more long term definitions to define group soul experiences.
Who knows though.

Yes I believe soul was created during conception that is when soul enters the embryo.
When soul enters, the state of mere consciousness is formed.
My conception began in September.
Hence I have moon in virgo. 🙂

The reporter was speaking of the Eclipse and definite changes to come.
All signs will have something coming their path.
I was slicing fruit while I watched.
Earth signs will suffer. Heartache.
Air signs will have family difficulties.
Fire signs will have financial/work issues.
Water signs will have their enemies revealed.

What about premies and late babies? I was super late and was supposed to be a leo.
I was born pre-mature and I still invariably came out to be Scorpio, with Leo moon.

how do you know you're really a scorpio, and that it's not something you're convincing yourself of rather than the truth
Personally I feel the soul is built along with the person it embodies. I also believe souls can be old from living many lives, but each life completely rearanges what the soul will become. Somewhat the same as life on a mortal human. That's why some souls can come back as pure evil. Their last life was likely full of pain and torment, so their next life was full of rage and vengeance. So to answer the question I believe it enters at birth, which is the first moment the human feels an emotion. Likely crying because it's cold, and waking up from a slumber into a world that will mold you into something new is terrifying. Taking it from deaths perspective life would be equally as scary.

Because I carried the traits from childhood to adulthood before I even knew what Astrology was. I didn't take it seriously until age 23 or so.

you could be a sag convincing yourself that you are a scorpio and you'd never know it.
manipulating one's own belief is very common.
Chinese believe in this. If your 26 now, you are 27 in chinese.
if you are XL, you are XXXL in chinese
I think that the energy of conception can have an effect on the soul of the child!
Maybe it's not the same for all souls. Maybe for some it's conception ..maybe for some it's six months ..or three years old. Maybe some never get souls at all. Who knows.

If you believe that someone's nature is defined based on when and where they are born (ie, their birth chart), do you believe that their soul enters their body at birth instead of conception?
This is a thought that's been on the back of my mind for years. If you believe that the soul enters the body at conception, then naturally, the date and location of conception should make more of an impact than when and where they were born, right?
Based on the birth chart logic, if my mom became pregnant in, say, the US, then about a week before the delivery date she flew to China, then a few weeks later brought me back home... my nature would be entirely different than if she'd just stayed home.
