been in the house all day by myself. haven't been anywhere near the fire place, and it just now suddenly turns on. it is in fact set to a thermostat. but i'm just realizing that it's been set to 80. no way the house temp has actually been 80 at any point in the last few days. i do not get why it would be set to 80 anyways. in theory, the fireplace should have been going this whole time.

wtf. not sure what's scarier??_ faulty fireplace or a ghost messing with thermostats.

am i missing something here? i need to rationalize this.

you presented a valid question that i'd always wondered if others were thinking and gave me a chance to clarify. so thank you. 🙂

and yea his ex was alright. there were a few times when i really wanted to make threads about what was going on in the 'love triangle.' just to vent, but it all knolled itself out. most of it was funny. some Facebook posts, and the reactions to them. 😛 and yes, you're right??_i can absolutely see why she couldn't let go for a while. i think if for some reason, he and i broke up??_ i'd give up on love. i'd be broken beyond repair. she's in a new relationship now, so kudos to her.

ahhhhh??_ exes. i have a gf who's bf has an ex that's about 20x worse. the things some men do is pretty funny, but god??_ some women! how can you NOT know you're making an ass of yourself?

you're welcome. You know as soon as i wrote that, i thought, (don't take offense) of you and how you must have felt with your ex. You couldn't "let go" or something, but it takes time. OF course i'm just guessing.

then it made me think too of my past. If i put myself in your shoes, i can see how irritating it is for an ex to be so intrusive and annoying when the boyfriend does not want the ex back at all. It's OVER. that kind of thing and he has a new woman.

But then, as i reflect and put myself in the position of the ex, i can see. I can see why it's difficult to let go. Youve had feelings and attachment for so long, and then because it's incompatible, just differnet, life choices, lack of love on one person, it's usually lack of love imo. then the other who is not ready to let go, will have to wait until that time comes which sometimes it doesn't.

Life is so sad sometimes.

you might have a ghost up there in the cabins.

have you checked the background of the cabin and who lived there before??

it's so cold here too. we had snow as well.

but it's melted and there might be more snow later. It's hard to get around in the snow.

when my husband and i got a place together, i had to go check out the place beforehand to get a "FEEL" of the place, if i got creepy vibes. i know that sounds dumb, but i can't be living in a place where the home has had too much horror. im very sensitive that way.

nope lol that makes perfect sense.

though this house has a great spirit and energy to it. i think the weird things happening are either all in my head or easily explained. maybe.

i've had stuff happen at the last three homes i've lived in as well. A lot of things that switch themselves on??_ a lot of lights, a fan that turned on repeatedly (that might've been faulty wiring ??_ i dunno), a blender, my last computer. now the fire place here. i was talking to our roommate about it ??_ he suggested a spiritual cleansing and a painting that was propped up against the wall fell to the floor literally right after he said it. my bf was there too, so two ppl can vouch other than just me.

i've decided that i'm going to attempt a vegetarian diet.

why?

many reasons. the primary reason being for self-control. all veggie isn't so much the point, but the method. i just want to be more conscientious about what I'm giving myself??_ eating with more appreciation for food, it's effect on my body and therefore my mind, and awareness of nutrition.

and a very smart man once told me that "if you can control your diet, then you can do just about anything you want to do"

lolololol??_ i just had an espresso shot and i never do??_ so i'm blaming my caffeine buzz for whatever i just did.

yes. in fact, my brother and sisters didn't believe me for a long time until i was talking to my brother about it one day, and after several minutes of his nay-saying and trying to convince my that i needed more sleep ??_ a very weird thing happened where suddenly at least a few dozen spiders where everywhere in the room we were in.

it seemed very sudden. it was his room and he'd been in there for at least a few hours by that point. but it kinda seemed like they'd just came out of nowhere. that sounds crazy, i know. but they were all over his chair that he was sitting on??_ his desk, that he was sitting at. and we'd only noticed it right then. so i dunno. but after that happened, he and my sisters admitted that prior to that incident they thought i was nutty. lol. thanks guys. since my brother was able to vouch for whatever that was??_ suddenly i was more believable. which??_ i can understand. i'd be pretty skeptical too. i do realize how crazy it sounds.

up until these last few months, i've always had arachnophobia pretty bad. my brother was kinda the one who started it. he used to throw spiders at me when we were kids. thereafter, i was scared shitless of them.

very very weird.

that's really interesting, thanks for sharing. i just had to google on spiders and spider superstition.

http://www.asktheexterminator.com/spiders/Spider_Superstitions.shtml<BR>
"If you see a spider spinning a web your income will increase due to hard work. I always thought my hard work is what increased my income. Now I know it was because of a spider.

Seeing a spider in the morning means a time of grief. Especially if my wife sees it first.

Seeing a spider at noon means a time of anxiety. High anxiety if it just walked out from under the salad I am eating.

Seeing a spider at night time means financial loss. It sure does because I'll need to call a pest control company and those guys aren't cheap.

Seeing a spider climb up its thread signifies good news is coming your way. Seeing a spider climb down its thread also means good luck. I wish these superstition writers would make up their minds. "

i've passed down one of my quirks to my nephew.

i still do this, i guess, but when i was a kid??_ whenever i was watching tv i always had my body pointed 45 degree away from the tv and had my head slightly turned towards the tv with my chin down. no idea why i did this, or still do, but my family always made fun of me ??_ bf thinks its cute now. it's like I'm not 100% committed to watching tv or like i'm too shy to face the tv.

any rate??_ my 16 month old nephew does it now. how freaking adorable.

hmmmm.... have a feeling the bitchy taur i work with is feeling inferior or something... her panties are in a wad today.

every time my boss asks for my opinion on what he should do about certain things today, she butts in and talks over me. she tried to tell me how i was gonna handle something earlier today and my reaction was "like hell i am...". this lady has it completely twisted. she keeps assuming shit about the work, ends up being wrong.. and it'll come back on me. sorry, not letting that happen.

i wanna lob my fucking stapler at her face.

Don't. You might lose it.

Just threaten to use it on her mouth.

I'm aging. i can feel it in my skin. perhaps i should blame it on the high altitude dry air, but i think i'll just despair over my 10th glass of water instead.

Reminds me of this:
"The world is changed, I feel it in the water, I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost; for none now live who remember it." 😛

Living below sea level right next to the sea has its own set of problems. 90% humidity around the freezing point for example. The cold can crack the skin on your knuckles quite well if you forget gloves.
But I do remember lots bloody noses that would last for half an hour/a full cup of coffee when I last visited Nevada in August. Good times 😄

My grandmother and aunt are in California visiting, and my aunt just posted a picture of them. For some reason it made me extremely sad, I guess to see that my grandmother is getting older. I know its inevitable, but I just wish I was in a position where I could visit her more often. I get in extremely lazy modes with my life, procrastinating and just sitting not doing anything, and like my Cancer aunt said...it's selfish. I wish I could go visit as soon as they get back from California, but I haven't set my life up to have that kind of freedom.

For the past few months, my grandmother and aunt have been in my dreams nearly every single night. It just stopped a few days ago, but I cant figure what that's been about.

I was out there Texas June of last year, and I did notice that my grandmother seemed just a tad depressed, but I was a little depressed too, and couldn't figure out if my moods were rubbing off on her or not, since it seems to happen with those around me when I'm a little down. Many years ago my Cancer aunt asked me a question...asking what advice I'd give to someone who was lonely. I told her the advice I'd give, then I asked who she was talking about, and she never told me. I thought long about it and wondered if it was her or my grandmother. My grandmother is in her early 70s now, and she's been single for about 30+ years. I'm now wondering how she feels about it, and if she ever gets lonely. She has a house full, literally, and she always sounds extremely good when I talk to her, but she is also a Cap, so you neevvveer know what's really going on inside.

Guess I'm just rambling. I remember the family took a train ride to Chicago years ago for a family reunion. My grandmother and a guy on the train talked basically the whole train ride. We were ALL shocked. I wish there was a single man around her age that the family knew. I don't even know how this rambling went from her getting older and me wanting to visit more, to her finding a man lol. I just hope she's okay.

random, but I had a horrible dream Betty White committed suicide last night. I guess that's partly why I'm so emotional too.

i used to manage the cash flow of a major bank. managed the vault??_ hundreds of thousands of dollars sometimes hourly. physically handling as much as a half mil at a time.

i used to be a personal assistant to very wealthy people in one of the richest zip codes in the US. handled all of their monthly bills. back when i was almost still a kid.

i have been entrusted with the livelihoods of people who have a lot to lose.

and my own boyfriend won't let me handle simple household finances that have been fumbled several times over the last several months. simple. household. finances.

i will continue to stand by and watch the butter fingers.

there's generally a few flocks that visit our house on the regular, but when it snows... sweet jesus... it turns into a feathery battle zone outside. i can see a lot of it from my office window.

saw a couple finches collide and fall head first into the snow. alive but stunned and motionless.

creepypants to the rescue!!! i scooped the poor lil buds up and set them on our porch where it was dry and they chilled there for a good 15 minutes all fluffed up and seemingly asleep. then they perked up and took off.

poor bf fell while riding ("snowboarding") and bruised his ribs. apparently it's nearly the same level of pain and recovery as fracturing... 4-8 weeks. i couldn't believe it. doc prescribed him tons of happy pills though, so that's a plus for him. 3 days later he's already feeling a lot better anyways. hopefully he's 100% in a couple weeks vs 8! though that could be all the codeine in him, lol.

i, on the other hand... messed that mountain up. one season or less and i'm making my way to black diamonds.

i've all the materials and start today. it'll work really well with all the large rocks covered with moss and lichen around here. gonna do before and after pics of the gardening work. probably will take progress pics. if i get pretty good with the hypertufa, i want to try to make a japanese garden lantern. lofty goal for a newbcake, but that's how i do it.
