thanks, man.

It's a different way of painting for me and it helps with anxiety too.

I'll definitely explore this way further .

Thank you!

It's a rough study of layering in a different way

Taken it as far as I can. She looks high as hell listening to Drake - November 18th while she's chilling.

Old one I wanted to finish. Couldn't finish the chains but nearly there.

I love your style .

thank you, comic style was the first I've learnt. Though I did a lot of it by putting it together in 3d first (skipped a lot of learning construction in drawing which isn't good but eh)

now I'm just learning different style s. Yesterday I tried abstract like @CuddleBug88 likes to do and nothing came to me lol

I dig this too!

I just start doing it...something always comes out of it and it sure as hell is gonna be ugly before I start to like it 😂

I have a certain playlist I listen to that gets me in the mood to just experiment with random shit and see what I can create.

Also, props to you @tiziani, cause this shit is extremely tedious when compared to traditional methods.

Really? I have no experience of doing traditional but to be doing it digitally feels like I'm cheating. Still, whatever works.

I was extremely close to Phase 3, and giving every Jake Gyllenhaal movie ever made a bad review, just saying.

LOL!

Zoom in to get a detail right, zoom out and you've got a Picasso.

Yeah I hear you. But that's what cascading windows are for 😛 Keep the macro view minimised on the side, while using the zoomed in window for detail.

Which program did you use?

Pixelmator, which obviously I'm not too familiar with. lol

I know what I'm looking at is the sales page, but it actually looks amazing. Never heard of it before.

It's true that with any program part of the time spent learning, is spent learning the program itself. That's a drawback of digital even for digital artists.

I remember when the Taurus came over and started using the stylus. She's a traditional artist and wildly talented. Within minutes she said "I can't do what I normally do, so this is useless". She wanted to use colour she'd already laid down on the canvas to detail, without adding any new colour.

I said "you mean the fingertip tool?"

A few minutes later begrudgingly she said "yes, that's what I needed" lol

Smart woman!

I think I'll stick to my traditional methods for now. lol

@Aju Glad to see this thread up again. 🙂

Was inspired by an adult coloring book I saw at the bookstore and decided to do this simplistic charcoal sketch. It's been awhile since I've used charcoal. I got pretty lazy with the water but I might touch up later. Maybe flesh out the background.

4.30.19 (Stage 03) ジャクソンさん | Just Having a bit of fun with Michael still. This is normally the process I take in my comics or commission work that involve this [comic] style . I would redo and go through a drawing several times in order to achieve a certain look or a certain emotion. I don't think I achieved fully what I wanted but oh well. I was aiming for a look of hopelessness yet hopefulness in his eyes as his eyes always seem to reveal a lot. It's only a sketch though I suppose and I will return to Mr Jackson soon..

I had a weird moment with sketching eyes yesterday. I realised I see someone's eyes as curtains wrapped over each other, in terms of pattern. Not how I expected to be sketching them as round spheres when I started.

Anyway I appreciate you posting in stages because it's always more vulnerable than posting the final draft

oh wow, that would be very interesting to see, Tiziani.

the pattern in your eyes.

I look forward to seeing those.

And I'm glad you like my process. Sometimes I'm a little embarrassed but It's fun

and therapeutic ...

These were the eyes I sketched yesterday. Ignore the mic it's not part of the same thing.

Also Unwording was right, it's way easier to sketch traditionally than digital, I don't know why.

ah wow. thanks man.

do you feel eyes are more enjoyable now because of these discoveries?

Sketch 5.2.19

Lines for a watercolor sketch I will finish.

Lines for my watercolors are fairly light so I had to enhance the photo

for anyone to see here. It appears a bit grainy though because of that.

I don't know. I think I kind of like the effect.

Sketch 5.3.19

An extremely stressful moment for me right now(not because of the painting process but just things here where I am) so I wasn't able to go any further then I wanted on this. I just traced my lines from yesterday so it should be ready to paint tomorrow. Things will be better.
