Sad that i have zero positive attributes

Posted by sugerbearThat's actually a GOOD point. I make my own dressing, not necessarily for health reasons. I just don't like the taste a lot of store bought dressings have (preservatives etc).
I prefer to cook, I really don't go out to eat that much. I enjoy cooking, nothing better then making dinner with a nice glass of wine and good music playing. 🙂 Plus I like actually knowing what is in my food. One of the girls that use to work in my office had a side gig working at Cheese Cake Factory, she told me don't ever order a salad at a restaurant the salad dressing has more calories then most of the dinner entrees, like 2000 calories per serving! That is insane!! I make everything and love BBQing, summer is my favorite cause I'm on the grill like 3-4 times a week. The only food I really like going out for is breakfast, cause I hate making and cleaning up a big mess in the morning and baked goods, I just really don't enjoy baking, I'm not a real big sweets person.

Posted by Leoqueen21I tried to make lamb once for the first time years ago (without a recipe which was dumb of me). It didn't come out right the way I wanted and I haven't tried since. Just had lamb at a Lebanese spot last weekend though. So gooood...
I prefer too cook at home and now even more since I'm trying to change my life through herbalife lol.
I would rather make the majority of my food because I feel like it comes out better at home
Something that I would rather order out would be greek food like a lamb gyro, my favvvv 🙂
I'm loving all these questions lol

Posted by Leoqueen21Hahah thanks. @CaramalizedCoffee, stop beating yourself up. I'm sure that's not true.Posted by CaramelizedCoffeeyes frfr, hubby material

Posted by EllygantThat looks awesome. How do you make your mac n cheese?
I LOVE cooking. My ex had incredibly picky tastes though so I gave up after we moved in together. Got tired of making chicken fingers and steak all the time. So we are out a lot. Then I switched industries and started working in a restaurant, so I work when everyone else is eating leaving me no time to cook lol.
I have picked it back up some though. I cook one night a week on my off day, and make big brunches one or two times a week. Just finished a homemade Mac n cheese too for a work party. 😄![]()

I don't remember portions on milk. I have been doing it so long I just sorta eyeball it based on consistency, once I stop feeling resistance with the whisk.

Posted by imbatgirl14What Mexican or Italian food do you normally make?
I love to cook when I have the time. Eating out gets tiring and it's a lot more expensive. Usually I eat out when I try out a recipe that I can't get right and I just have to go eat it at a restaurant.
I cook mostly Mexican and Italian food but I have tried other cultural recipes. They just don't come out right... *enter 1st paragraph here*

Posted by EllygantJust lovely, I actually started taking flour out of my recipe and going with the slow cooking method per se. I let the cheese simmer and melt into heavy whipping cream instead.Posted by CaramelizedCoffeeA rue is sort of like a sauce base, especially for cream sauces. Posted by imbatgirl14Oh nice, so you definitely know what you're doing. Which foods haven't come out right for you in the past?Posted by ChuckcemI make a lot of Laura Vitale's recipes tbh. Shredding your own cheese gives it a really fresh flavor. Plus hand shredded melts easier since it's closer to room temp.click to expand

Posted by imbatgirl14The recipes can be quite good (also helps if you know your way around a kitchen too). So Tasty is a Youtube Channel that was started by Buzzfeed (I believe) and they are notorious for condensing complex recipes into 1-1.5 minute videos. It's super helpful if you want to get the gist of the recipe, not so helpful if you need more detail/definition/cultural significance of a recipe and its ingredients.Posted by ChuckcemNo I actually haven't. Posted by shakedownThat makes sense.Posted by ChuckcemIts strange. I always feel like I could be doing something more productive. I have never really been a "meal" girl. I prefer to just pick on things, like cheese, pepperoni and olives. Its good, filling and there is no clean-up. I think more than anything, I HATE that after standing in front of the stove for a long period of time, you STILL are not done, because you have to clean. Too much work.Posted by shakedownHahaha why?

Posted by Blue_FroggieOh I totally get it. I took cooking classes as a kid, but I'm definitely a "feel and cook" person myself. That's not to say I won't use recipes, but I generally don't need them once I understand the basics of whatever I'm cooking. Check out the Tasty YouTube Channel. I posted up on of their vids here. Here's another link though: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJFp8uSYCjXOMnkUyb3CQ3QPosted by ChuckcemPosted by Blue_FroggieI was really hoping I could find the topic, no such luck though.Posted by ChuckcemWill you post the recipe? Preheat your oven to 350/400 degrees. Take a flour tortilla (small to medium or whatever size you want really that will fit in a skillet or pan). Oil your pan/skillet with olive oil and a small amount of butter. Then spread minced garlic across the pan with the melted butter for about a minute. Lay your tortilla down and let it browning only slightly. This will be the crust of your flatbread.
Flip the tortilla over to brown the other side. In the meantime spread on your pizza sauce (or marinara), then add a layer of shredded mozzarella (or whatever cheese you'd prefer). Then sprinkle on your toppings. Make sure any meat toppings have been previously cooked and/or ready to consume already. Then add on another layer of cheese to seal the toppings in place. Sprinkle on some salt, pepper, oregano (optional), Parmesan, and olive oil on the stop.
With the bottom of the flat bread now brown, place it in your now hot oven to bake for 3-5 minutes. This lets the crust harden more and the toppings to melt and cook. Let the cheese melt and brown slightly. If you want a fuller flavor, let the cheese brown a bit more, just be sure not to burn it. Take out the pizza and let it cool for another 3-5 minutes. Cut into quarters or slices and you're done!
Total cook time is not more than 20-30 minutes. So by the time you could order a pizza and grab it, you could already be eating your own pizza for free.
Thank you:-)
I have it saved and will try it...
I love to cook.... But I never learned it from anyone....And lack the patience to follow a cook book but tada! I'm a very very good cook lol I don't know how that happened maybe it is because i feel and cook.... The problem is I could never replicate a complex dish... It could be because I never use any measures to cook since I go with the aroma, smell and the feel I get while cooking.... Pls don't laugh lol
I did learn the basics when I used to help my mom... Like making rice noodles and hoppers or batter consistency. I make everything from scratch and use fresh produce. And I cook twice a day ? unless I were to dine out.
Since I'm an Asian, most of the dishes are Asian dishes but I do cook a bit of Thai, continental, and Mexican... and have been cooking few Arab dishes also.
When I dine out I prefer American food( Yeah even the greasy ones -_-) or Sushi... I order in very rarely... It is easier to spend fifteen mins and get something simple and wholesome to eat at home.
Thanks for sharing the recipe :-)
